NLP and Netflix: a mysterious announcement that makes a lot of talk

This Wednesday, June 24, the rap group PNL and the streaming platform Netflix each released their respective logos. These short videos suggest a major project. All NLP fans theorize about the content of this collaboration.  As usual, PNL knows how to maintain suspense. The two brothers Ademos and N.O.S posted a short video on Twitter unveiling the Netflix logo. For its part, the streaming platform has released the QLF logo in a pixelated style. QLF means "only the family", an expression used by the group of rappers.

Secrecy and the element of surprise are the main methods of communication of the group and one of the main reasons for their success. To announce their Zenith tour, PNL had installed space capsules in each of the cities hosting the group. Nevertheless, the tour has since been cancelled due to the outbreak. For its music video Au DD, PNL broadcast a mysterious live on Youtube for 16 hours, which strained the nerves of fans.

The clip, released on March 22, 2019, has recorded 12 million views in 48 hours on YouTube. To date, it has nearly 150 million views. Au DD won the prize for the best audiovisual creation at the Victoires de la musique in February.

NLP and Netflix: multiple theories!

Many questions abound around this mysterious collaboration. Is it a movie? A series? A documentary? When will it be released? Some imagine a documentary retracing the journey of the two brothers, Tarik and Nabil Andrieu. This could be the only interview of their career. PNL has never done an interview because he considers that their whole life is described in their music. Nevertheless, unpublished video extracts could allow us to learn more about them, about their evolution. Others opt instead for a film or a concert in rerun, to compensate for the impatience of fans before the 2021 tour. Indeed, the "QLF" logo on the video published by Netflix corresponds to the logo of the rappers' tour dating from 2017. This type of content would make it possible to view new images, especially behind the scenes. Finally, the craziest theory is that the public could choose the final outcome of the series with several options, such as a video game. It could be like the famous episode of Black Mirror where everyone chooses what the characters will do. Some Internet users think this since Netflix's famous "TOU DOUM" was replaced by a sound effects resembling a video game. In addition, in November 2019 Ademo posted on Instagram a photo of his meeting with Yū Suzuki, the designer of the video game Shenmue. This isn't the first time Netflix has collaborated with an artist or rap group. On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, the film Les Étoiles Vagabondes, which is the making-of of Nekfeu's new album, landed on the platform.
