While the series is not yet guaranteed to return for a seventh season next fall, Jennifer Morrison has just announced her departure from Once Upon a Time!

Since the beginning of the series, she has played Emma Swan, the Savior, mother of Henry and daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Jennifer Morrison has just announced on Instagram that she has decided not to renew her contract for a future season. If season 7 of Once Upon a Time is ordered, it will be necessary to count without the character of Emma!

A shocking announcement for fans, which the actress justifies with these words:

"I decided that creatively and personally, it's time to move on. Emma is one of my favorite characters that I had the chance to play. My six years on Once Upon A Time changed my life in the best way. (…) I am honored to have been a central part of such a special series. I will forever be grateful to Adam, Eddy and ABC for giving me this gift of playing Emma Swan."

Jennifer Morrison has also confirmed that she does not definitively close the door of the series. If a new season were to see the light of day (we are talking about a complete reboot of the series), the Rescuer could make an appearance.

It is during the upfronts of the ABC channel that we will be fixed on the fate of Once Upon a Time. A little patience before the final denouement!

In the meantime, season 6 ends on May 14.
