Still many new American series will appear during the month of October on the various channels. A short overview of all those you can discover, watch, hate, criticize, adore… Perhaps in the lot the future star series of the coming years?
Westworld
Scheduled for October 2, new series in 10 episodes of the HBO channel with the cast Mr. Anthony Hopkins. The pitch? An amusement park populated by robots offers visitors to immerse themselves in several eras. Launched into the wild west, two friends find themselves plunged into a nightmare when one of the androids goes haywire and chases them…
Conviction
ABC is once again counting on Hayley Attwell (Agent Carter) for its new series: within the American justice system, nothing is black or white. Just ask Hayes Morrison, lawyer and daughter of the former President of the United States. After being arrested for drug possession, she faces a dilemma: go to jail or take a job with her rival, New York lawyer Conner Wallace. In order to avoid damaging his mother's election campaign, Hayes decided to accept the offer and found himself in a special police unit working with experts in multiple fields to re-examine problematic cases. 13 episodes planned at the moment.
Timeless
NBC is chasing a future hit? This is what we wish them with this series that starts on October 3, worn by the sublime Abigail Spencer. Small appetizer? An unlikely trio, consisting of a history teacher, a soldier, and a scientist, travels through time to stop a dangerous criminal, eager to change the course of history as we know it. 13 episodes ordered.
No Tomorrow
On October 4, the CW will unveil its new comedy. The pitch is enticing: Evie, a young woman who never takes risks in her personal life, falls in love with Xavier, a completely carefree man, who is convinced that the apocalypse is imminent and who will encourage him to make a list of things to accomplish before the end of the world. With actress Tori Anderson, seen in The LA Complex. 13 episodes planned at the moment.
Frequency
It seems that time travel is fashionable! A young woman, a police inspector, discovers that she can communicate with her father, who died 20 years earlier, thanks to a radio transmitter. This father-daughter cop duo will then try, on two distinct temporalities, to solve a decades-old case. Without suspecting the consequences it could have on the present and the course of their lives…
The series is adapted from the film Forbidden Frequency (2000). Peyton List will play the heroine in these 13 episodes scheduled for October 5.
Divorce
On October 9, it's the return of Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex and the City) in an HBO series. Let's hope to find her in great shape! Frances, a New York mother in her prime of life, decides to "start over" her life with the help of her friends Dallas and Diane, and even thinks about divorce. But her husband doesn't hear it that way… 10 episodes planned for the moment.
American Housewive
ABC relies on Katy Mixon in this comedy where a woman tries, as best she can, to raise a dysfunctional family in a neighborhood where wives as perfect as their respective offspring reside. It will have 13 episodes to convince us, from October 11th!
Channel Zero: Candle Cove
SyFy US is betting big with this horror anthology series reminding us of American Horror Story: a man is obsessed with an 80s children's TV show, and begins to suspect that she played a role in the murderous and nightmarish events of her childhood. 6 episodes to convince is not much, but if the quality is there, it will not be enough! See you on October 13.
Falling Water
The USA network will launch its new series of 10 episodes on the same day, with Will Yun Lee (Wolverine). Three unrelated people realize that they are each dreaming a part of the same dream. An intriguing pitch.
Freakish
Hulu launches the barred horror series on October 14. A group of high school students in a small town in the United States must defend themselves against mutant predators that have emerged following a nuclear disaster. A series surfing on the horror genre, but to what extent?
Berlin Station
Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) is attached to this series where a CIA analyst is transferred to the Berlin office. His mission: to find an informant… The Epix channel is betting big on these ten episodes, from October 16.
Eyewitness
Still on October 16, but on USA this time, actress Julianne Nicholson (Masters of Sex) will have to convince with her new series. The story? Two teenagers meet secretly in a forest where they witness a shooting, a murder, and narrowly escape death. Trying to hide their love they remain silent, but realize that we do not forget a murder so easily…
Serious
A luxury casting with Sela Ward and Nick Nolte for this new series of Epix on October 16: Margaret Graves, wife of former President of the United States Richard Graves, enters politics while her husband plays Don Quixote and tries to highlight the mistakes of his administration twenty years after his mandate. 10 episodes planned.
Luck
On October 19, Hugh Laurie (House MD) returns for 20 episodes of a series halfway between comedy and detective genre. A neuropsychiatrist who will find himself in conflict with the abusive wife of a patient. The problem? This woman also works for… The police! To discover on Hulu.
Man with a plan
After being a stay-at-home mom for 13 years, Andi decides to return to the world of work. It is therefore up to her husband, Adam, to be in charge of the house, and especially their three children, who will be more complicated to manage than he thought. The CBS channel calls on the ex-Friends Matt Leblanc, recently released from the series Episodes. Scheduled for 13 episodes starting October 24.
Pure Genius
Augustus Prew (Kick Ass 2) who would become billionaire technology genius James Bell hired Dr. Walter Wallade, a controversial surgeon, to set up Bunker Hill, an avant-garde hospital that was supposed to revolutionize the world of healthcare. A series to discover on CBS for 13 episodes, October 27.
The Great Indoors
On the same day on the same channel, Joel McHale (Community) will have to convince with his new comedy. The story? An adventure journalist has to adapt the day he becomes head of young adults in the digital department in the magazine he works for. 13 episodes planned.
People of Earth
TBS launches into fantasy but with a comedy, which will have as theme people abducted by aliens. Little information for the moment, but 10 episodes to convince us!
Stan against Evil
John C. McGinley, unforgettable interpreter of Dr. Cox in Scrubs, returns on October 31 as Stan, a sheriff forced to take early retirement, who has trouble passing the torch to his replacement, Evie. The two will nevertheless form an alliance to fight demons that haunt the city, built on the site of a witch massacre in the 17th century. A series planned on the IFC channel, no doubt with great laughter!
