Seen in Dix pour cent, Jeux d'influence and more recently in Adieu les cons, Marilou Aussilloux also plays Élise, the main character of La Révolution. Available since October 16 on Netflix, it rewrites this dark period of our history. Meet a rising star of the small and big screens.
Who is Marilou Aussilloux?
Marilou Aussilloux aspired, for a time, to become a French teacher, then starting a literary preparation. Passionate about the emotion conveyed by texts, she chose to interpret them rather than teach them. This is how Marilou Aussilloux left her region of Narbonne to train in comedy in Paris. Student at the Cours Florent, then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique, the young actress is comfortable on stage as well as in front of the camera. On the small screen, she was first seen in the TV movie Simon's Law, then in television series such as the very popular Dix pour cent or Jeux d'influence – by Oscar-winning director Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, from the documentary. She also played the lead role in the music video Moïra Gynt by singer Tim Dup.
What roles have revealed her to the general public?
In cinema, she is seen for the first time in the comedy Raoul Taburin, alongside Benoît Poelvoorde and Édouard Baer. This year, the public was able to discover Marilou Aussilloux in the biopic De Gaulle, with Lambert Wilson and Isabelle Carré, or in Adieu les cons, by and with Albert Dupontel. In the French series La Révolution she plays Elise, a young secret noblewoman, while the blue-blooded disease spreads among the French aristocracy. The story takes place in 1787, and the revolt rumbles, threatening to break out at any moment. Originally, however, she auditioned for the role of Katell – eventually played by Isabel Aimé Gonzalez Sola. After tests that seduced the creators of the series, she gets the role of Elise, main character of The Revolution. In just two weeks, Marilou Aussilloux prepared the role before experiencing a particularly intense shoot. This series reveals it all the more to the French public, but also internationally. It also allows him to develop new skills, such as sign language or musket shooting.
What are his upcoming projects?
