Hope is a documentary series created by two young directors from the association Les Compères Production based in Tours. It invites us to follow young Europeans with inspiring and hopeful careers. Antoine Bortolotti and Jérémy Ciepielewski went to meet these young people in their countries of origin. Rich in several experiences of short films, always with committed themes, the two directors were able to present Hope on November 8. In view of the sanitary conditions, the organizers have chosen to replace the event with a live broadcast on YouTube. Hope: a documentary series as a breath of hope for young people

The genesis of a humanist project

It all started with Project Y, a documentary composed of interviews with experts (sociologists, journalists, consultants and writers) and presentations by young Europeans. On the occasion of its screening at the Cinémas Studio in Tours, a Parisian production company spotted their work. Unfortunately, the documentary has not yet been broadcast on television, but they were able to bounce back by creating Hope. Thus, two episodes out of the three filmed, were broadcast online. Each 13-minute episode, a young person and a different country, with their own journey. We then went from the Denmark of Mads, architect and inventor of the Growroom, to the Greece of Danai, creator of an alternative tourism agency, Alios Tours. The final episode will focus on Gosia, a young Polish neuroscientist. Hope: a documentary series as a breath of hope for young people

A series with an optimistic look

These first two episodes take us on a whirlwind of positive emotions, highlighting these young people with overflowing optimism. Les Compères seek to have a positive impact on society, but especially on young people, who lack reference points. With a careful realization and breathtaking drone shots, we follow the two young people in their daily lives. Now an architect, Mads was passionate about construction from childhood. Winning a competition (the Copenhagen Chart Art Fair) with his partner, Sine, allowed them to bring the Growroom project to life. Danai, meanwhile, grew up during the 2008 economic crisis. In 2017, she decided to resign to travel the world and then moved to the island of Chios. With her tourism agency, she seeks to inspire tourists and young Greeks alike in search of meaning in their existence. Mads does not hesitate to share the plans of the Growroom for free with the whole world, while Danai highlights the little-known nuggets of his country. In any case, both evolve in a benevolent and inspiring approach, in the will is desired by the Comrades. At the moment, we do not yet know the date of broadcast of the third episode. One thing is certain, Hope is one of those series that we enjoy following, carrying the hope that we are promised in the title.
