The continuation of season 4 of Empire will be broadcast from March 28 in the United States and will welcome actress Alfre Woodard to the cast.
The Lyon family has not finished surprising us! And it's the turn of Cookie's mother, Renée, to bring her share of twists in the second part of season 4 of Empire. The reunion between mother and daughter promises to be turbulent.
On Cookie's side, we are mostly used to seeing her sisters, Carol and Candace – played respectively by Tasha Smith and Vivica A. Fox. We could also see his father in the many flashbacks of season 3 that made us discover the adolescence of Cookie and his meeting with Lucious.
The arrival of his mother should teach us more about the character of Cookie and the origins of his strong character. The addition to the cast of Alfre Woodard was announced via Instagram on the official account of the series:
The actress Alfre Woodard, accustomed to the small screen and already multi-awarded, was recently seen in the series Luke Cage and The Disastrous Adventures of the Baudelaire Orphans (Netflix original creations). And if you remember, she had marked the spirits during her remarkable passage in the series Desperate Housewives.
She will also be seen in 2019 in the highly anticipated remake of the animated film The Lion King by Jon Favreau, for which she will do the voice of Sarabi.
