Will season 11 of Doctor Who be a kind of reboot of the series?
Season 11 of Doctor Who is expected on the BBC in autumn 2018. While the Christmas episode will be an opportunity to say goodbye to Peter Capaldi and welcome Jodie Whittaker, who will be the first female incarnation of the character, it could be that it is a completely redesigned series that comes back to us.
In addition to the arrival of a new showrunner in the person of Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch), the format of the series should be different. Accustomed to seasons of 12 episodes of 45 minutes in addition to a special at Christmas, the English newspaper The Mirror reveals that the eleventh season could adopt a format of 10 episodes. A loss for fans? Of course not, since the episodes would now last 60 minutes!
Other news: a brand new design for the Tardis would be in the works as well as a new version of the now famous sonic screwdriver.
With a female doctor, what about the travel companion? To date, no information has yet filtered out.
Time is still long until the broadcast of season 11 of Doctor Who but to console itself, the traditional Christmas episode, entitled Twist Upon a Time will see the Doctor played by Peter Capaldi team up with the very first incarnation of the character! Broadcast scheduled for December 25 on the BBC.
