Still waiting for season 10, scheduled for 2017 in England, and pending the debut of the spin-off Class in October, the Doctor Who series will return in December for its traditional Christmas episode…
While it had already been revealed that it would be written by Steven Moffat (executive producer and writer of the series), we did not know much about said episode.
We now know that the Doctor will meet a companion, who will be a cheeky superhero, with an American accent, protecting some dark interstellar secrets.
No comment from the BBC channel to tell us if it will be a known superhero or an original creation. Steven Moffat being a big fan of comics, and knowing his abilities as a writer, it is quite possible that we will meet a new superhero!
The other companion of Doctor during this episode will be Nardole (Matt Lucas), who we already know thanks to the episode "The Husbands of River Song", the episode of last Christmas.
It had already been announced that he would be one of the regular characters of season 10 alongside the new companion of the Doctor, Bill, played by Pearl Mackie.
We normally expect this special episode for December 25, the traditional date of broadcast on the BBC in England.
