Tonight was Disney Investor Day. A huge three-hour conference during which Disney pundits unveiled some projects for the next 3 years. Among the many revelations made during this evening, the firm unveiled in bulk, films and series Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar. Enough to make us languish and make us want to subscribe to the platform.
Star Wars
Disney intends to use the Star Wars license like a cash cow. Faced with the success of The Mandalorian, Mickey does not intend to stop in such a good way and confirms that at least ten projects are in development.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
This is probably the most anticipated series by fans of the Star Wars universe. Obviously, Disney has given some news about the flagship series that will see the return of Ewan McGregor in the skin of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The big news around the series of Hossein Amini and Joby Harold is that a major character will also be back. Hayden Christensen is confirmed to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker. The Bad Batch
They appeared in the final season of The Clone Wars. The Bad Batch is a squadron of rebellious and unformatted clones , who act according to their own code, their own will and their own destiny. - Rangers of the New Republic: Another spin-off of The Mandalorian centered on the character of Cara Dune played by Gina Carano.
- Visions: An anime series consisting of 10 short films made by various Japanese animation studios.
- Lando: a series centered on a young Lando Calrissian, the cult character played by Billy Dee Williams in the original trilogy and by Donald Glover in Han Solo.
- A Droid Story: C-3PO and R2-D2 will be the heroes of their own animated series in which they will guide amateur droids to teach them the basics of the trade.
- The Acolyte: This is one of the most mysterious projects on the list. This series will take us on a journey through a galaxy of dark secrets, and teach us the origins of the dark side of the Force in the final days of the High Republic era.
Walt Disney and 20th Century Fox
The Walt Disney and 20th Century Fox projects will also flood into the screens. Disney pundits have revealed many upcoming projects, whether in series, animation, or cinema.
- Sister Act 3 has been formalized. Whoopi Goldberg will return as Deloris. 25 years after the second film, she will return in this cult role for a third episode that will be broadcast on Disney +.
- A prequel series to the live-action film Beauty and the Beast has been announced. Josh Gade and Luke Evans will reprise their respective roles as LeFou and Gaston.
- A prequel film to The Lion King has just been confirmed. He will obviously focus on Mufasa.
- The first glimpse of the movie Pinocchio has just been unveiled. As a reminder, the film will be directed by Robert Zemeckis and worn by Tom Hanks:

- The sequel to Once Upon a Time has also been confirmed. Amy Adams will be back as Princess Giselle.
- The Alien series by Noah Hawley (Legion) has finally been officially confirmed. Ridley Scott is expected to be producing.
- The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild has been announced. It will be a spin-off of the character of Buck present in Ice Age 3.
- An animated film Night at the Museum has been confirmed.
- The Percy Jackson series is revealed in a first visual.
Walt Disney Animation
Pixar productions are not to be outdone and Disney renews its partnership with the studio with the lamp. Many projects have also been announced.
Encanto
A first teaser of Encanto has just been unveiled. This will be the next Disney movie to be released after Raya and the Last Dragon. Directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the feature film will be set in Colombia and will follow a young woman from a family whose members are endowed with magical powers. But she doesn't have one. - A Zootopia series is in development. It is called Zootopia +, and will follow several secondary characters in Byron Howard and Rich Moore's film. Released in 2022.
- A Princess and the Frog series is also in development. It will focus on Tiana. Released in 2022.
- A Vaiana series will focus on Vaiana. Released in 2023.
- A New Heroes series will focus on the endearing Baymax. Released in 2022.
Disney – Pixar
- Chris Evans will lend his voice to Buzz Lightyear in a film called Lightyear. The animated film is scheduled for June 2022. The project will return to the origins of the famous Space Ranger.
- A series Cars is in preparation centered on Flash McQueen and Martin on a road trip across the USA. Available in fall 2022.
- Dugs Day: a series centered on the dog of Up there available in the fall of 2021.
- Turning Red: new film scheduled for March 2022. It will be directed by Domee Shi (Bao) and will tell the story of a 13-year-old girl who has the ability to change into a giant red panda.
- Win or Lose: An animated series that will follow a college softball team. Each episode will tell the story of the week before the start of the championship from the perspective of a different character.
Marvel Studios
Finally, we get there. Among these many announcements, Disney has obviously dropped some information about the next Marvel Studios projects. And inevitably, there is heavy. Very, very heavy!
WandaVision
Available on January 15 on Disney +, the WandaVision series has just released a new trailer. The series of Jac Shaeffer, carried by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany promises to be explosive . A first teaser that promises a certain dose of action, and reveals two characters plagued by their personal doubts. Loki
The series worn by Tom Hiddleston also unveils its first images. Michael Waldron's show will focus on the god of lies who runs away with the cosmic cube in Avengers: Endgame. The trailer has the intelligence to take up this famous scene, and tell the fate of Loki, lost in time and space. It's also an opportunity to see Owen Wilson in action. What if…?
The series What if…? also reveals her first images. This animated show, narrated by Samuel L Jackson, returns to the past and tells the story of the MCU in another form. For example, T'Challa becomes Star Lord and Agent Carter becomes Captain America. The goal is to see the MCU from a different perspective and present alternate histories. - Secret Invasion: Nick Fury will be back in a new series centered on the Skrulls. As suggested by the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Samuel L Jackson's character is in space with this alien race.
- Ironheart: New series centered on Riri Williams (the heiress of Iron Man), who will be played by Dominique Thorne.
- Armor Wars : new live-action series that will allow the return of Don Cheadle as War Machine.
- I Am Groot: An animated series centered on Baby Groot.
- James Gunn will be working simultaneously on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and on a Guardians of the Galaxy movie "Holiday Special".
- She-Hulk: the series confirms the presence of Mark Ruffalo in the cast.
- A Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali is well in production.
- The series Moonknight will see Oscar Isaac in the lead role.
- Finally, Jon Watts, the director of the two Spider-Man, is responsible for directing a new film The Fantastic 4, to insert them into the MCU.
