After a heartbreaking season finale for Chicago Barracks 51, it's time to discover the answers to the terrible cliffhanger. The first episode of season 6 of Chicago Fire, It's wasn't enough, has just aired on NBC. Our review.
Casey, Severide, Mouch and Hermann. At the end of the last episode of season 5, the lives of these four characters were in danger of death following an intervention in a burning building. The distress of their colleagues outside and Chief Boden's decision not to rescue them stayed in our minds all summer, as did Gabriela Dawson's frightened look. So which character did the writers decide to sacrifice?
Drum roll
The answer is… No one! It was to be expected, endangering four main characters could hardly lead to the death of one of them. Mistake of the screenwriters? Sixth season for the series, it might have been wise to sacrifice one of the characters to revive the interest of the show and spice up the plots. Yet we believed in it! The episode begins with a ceremony we think is Casey's funeral. It is simply a medal presentation.
The episode is also there to show us the attachment of the couple Casey / Dawson. It must be recognized that they have gone through many hardships over the seasons. Now that they are married and happy, it is to be hoped that the couple thrives away from trouble and danger.
A return to the roots?
If there's one character who doesn't change, it's Severide. After facing the death of his girlfriend, he is back as a free man. The character is still far from a stable and tidy life and we can't wait to see what his cohabitation with Kidd will give.
Mouch had decided to retire at the end of last season. His heart attack in the middle of the flames caused him to change his mind and he is already back at work. To believe that it is a backpedaling on the part of the scriptwriters.
The intervention of the week may not be a trivial story of the week. A fire broke out in the school where Donna, Boden's wife, works. Apparently, this would not be a trivial accident. The return of an arsonist?
A slow start to the season for Chicago Fire with this sixth season. Last season's cliffhanger seems to be a real wet firecracker. We must hope that the writers have surprises in store for us in the episodes to come. The series tends to run out of steam despite its excellent cast. To follow throughout the television season on NBC!
