A new superhero for the CW!
We have been talking to you for a few months now about Black Lightning, Greg Berlanti's new project for the American channel CW. A pilot had been ordered and the cast, carried by actor Cress Williams (Hart of Dixie) unveiled.
We learn today that the channel has officially ordered a first season for the show that should come to register in the Arrow-Verse alongside the other superheroes of the channel. Like DC's Legends of Tomorrow at launch, Black Lightning should start mid-season.
Black Lightning is the first African-American superhero in the DC Comics universe. The series will be produced by Greg Berlanti and created by Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil, who designed Being Mary Jane. Alongside Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, we will find Nefessa Williams (Code Black), Christine Adams (Terra Nova) and China Anne McClain (Descendants 2).
Next season of the CW will once again be loaded with superheroes!
