Trailers, interviews, photoshoots… JustFocus gathers all the information about season 5 of Arrow that was given at the famous San Diego Comic Con, 2016 edition.

Let's start by setting the general tone of this new season: season 5 will be devoted mainly to the reconstruction of the city. So we come back to storylines similar to that of season 1 where the biggest evils of the city come from the inhabitants themselves: thugs, robbers, thieves, etc. But that won't stop Oliver from having a new enemy, also an archer, named Prometheus. This character is not from DC Comics but was created specifically for the series, as producer Marc Guggenheim said, "This is a new character. A character that perfectly suits the theme of the season, that of knowing what the team leaves as a legacy. He's a real badass."

During the panel dedicated to Arrow, the CW had then released the first trailer of season 5 which offers us a gold mine of information!

"Your instinct has always been to go it alone, but Ollie, you can't." – Laurel to Oliver, shortly before his death.

Decryption

Oliver will follow Laurel's advice and try to build a new vigilante team. However, it seems that this is not going smoothly. Indeed, two new recruits are pairing: Evelyn Sharp, played by Madison McLaughlin, will reappear (she is the one who had imitated the black-canary) and Wild Dog, played by Rick Gonzalez, will appear.Problem: They are very young and Oliver will complain about their immaturity to Felicity who will retort that it is up to him to train them because he inspires them. It is from there that Oliver will start coaching these two recruits as well as Curtis. Regarding Curtis, the producer of the series said that they had a lot of plans for him, especially vis-à-vis his marriage. "He wants to become a vigilante. He wants to learn how to defend the city and fight crime. But he has her husband at home and he will probably start to realize that he comes home with lots of bruises and cuts…Inevitably, he will question himself a lot. "

But remember, Oliver was elected mayor of Star City! According to Stephen Amell (the actor of Arrow), "He's a very bad mayor. He's bad because he doesn't have a team." No team to help him as mayor but he has to coach Team Arrow… In other words, it will not be very available. This is why it will be, in reality, Thea who will take the reins of the city.

Regarding Felicity, she will fight with her emotions that she will try to hide. His romantic relationship with Oliver will not improve even though it is obvious that the latter is still in love. However, they will remain partners at work and will strive to assemble, together, a new team.

Diggle (David Ramsey), will be with the Special Forces but will still not be able to leave behind the events of season 4: he still blames himself for Laurel's death and still feels guilty for seeing his own brother killed. However, he will return to Star City, or even to Team Arrow!

Big surprise: Kate Cassidy who plays Laurel will be back in the first episode, despite Laurel's death! This news is all the more surprising as we know that Lance, Laurel's father, is in a very bad state following the death of his daughter – so it is not to be excluded that he imagines seeing his daughter in front of him. However, the CW claimed that Kate Cassidy had become a regular character in all DC series like John Barrowman (Malcom). That is to say in Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.

Another appearance: That of Joe Dinicol (Blindspot) who will play Rory Regan, aka Ragman – who we told you about. We only have a brief description of him: "Right after experiencing a personal tragedy, Rory hopes to find answers in Star City, where he finally meets Green Arrow. In the comics, Ragman is a mystical vigilante with a costume that allows him to absorb souls.

Ragman Arrow

Finally, the CW has unveiled its plans for the 100th episode of Arrow: A huge cross-over with Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl — a great 4-hour episode!
