Given the quality of the first two seasons, we can only rejoice at the arrival of season 3 of American Crime on the American channel ABC. The official synopsis has just pointed the tip of its nose…
After a first season dealing with racism and a second season with harassment, the third season of the series American Crime is unveiled. It will deal with the problems of workers, the rights of the individual, and America's economic cleavages. While we learned a few months ago the presence of Sandra Oh in the casting, let's discover the official synopsis that has just been put online by the ABC channel:
For this third season of the anthology American Crime, we will meet in Alamance County, North Carolina. We discovered Luis Salazar (Benito Martinez), a man who travels illegally from Mexico City in search of his missing son. He will discover modern slavery on farms.
Coy Henson (Connor Jessup), meanwhile, is a young man separated from his family, who is addicted to drugs. He will meet Isaac Castillo (Richard Cabral), a team leader on a farm, where he will seize the opportunity to take control of his life. He will then discover a new form of injustice as he tries to end his addiction.
Jeanette Hesby (Felicity Huffman) discovers how her husband's family made their fortune with their Hesby Farms farm. She will then find herself in a difficult position morally.
Kimara Walters (Regina King) is a social worker, single, who wants more than anything in the world to become a mother. She is interested in Shae (Ana Mulvoy-Ten), a 17-year-old prostitute whom she wants to help.
Finally, we will discover Nicholas Coates (Timothy Hutton), the owner of a store who struggles to sell his products in a highly competitive market. His marriage to Clair (Lili Taylor) falls apart. The latter then decides to hire Gabrielle (Mickaëlle X. Bizet), an undocumented Haitian woman to be their son's nanny. She will then discover that her job and her papers will cost her dearly.
A tempting pitch that we hope to discover soon. ABC has not yet communicated a release date but it should not be long in coming!
