From 25 to 30 May, five days of free and paid concerts will take place at the Parc de la Villette. La Villette Sonique is back but then who to see? Where to go? What to do? JustFocus guides you through the immensity of the programming, enough to keep you ready for the start of the celebrations.

With nearly forty artists and a large number of activities present over 5 days, all investing the entire Parc de la Villette, there is enough to get lost in the range of events programmed … Don't panic! We propose to highlight some artists and information not to be missed.

Some paid concerts…

Now we know, the Villette Sonique will take place throughout the Parisian site. But the venues of the paid concerts will be separated from those of the free concerts, and will take place among others at the Grande Halle. We will not miss the arrival of Mogwai, and their album Every Country's Sun released in 2016, Friday, May 25.

Another nice name of the Grande Halle, Anna von Hausswolf with her experimental music. She will play on Saturday, enough to start the weekend in a total spiritualism. Note the presence of the (historical) French group Marquis de Sade on the same day, all after forty years of absence… You can't miss it!

Near the Philharmonic will take place many concerts at the Trabendo. Will play among others Naked Giants and their nonchalant punk-rock, in the early evening of May 26. Kate NV straight from Russia will play on May 30 at the end of the festival. Enough to have time to get to know his pop ovony, nourished by contemporary Japanese influences.

Third paying area, the Cabaret Sauvage, opposite the Zenith on the other side of the bank of the Canal de L'Ourcq. We recommend Midnight Sister who will spend Tuesday 29 at 20 hours. They will be there with their first album Saturn Over Sunset, to defend an interpretation of pop that you are not likely to have already heard.

…And others free

Because it is a festival that wants to be accessible, La Villette Sonique reserves two afternoons and a few pieces of evenings for free and/or outdoor concerts. There will be two dates, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 which will host the majority of free events.

Saturday will be an opportunity to discover the female trio Sassy 009 and its refreshing first EP. Also worth seeing, Jackie Mendoza and her electro pop both from Mexico. On Sunday, JustFocus advises Montrealers of Essai Pas and their techno experiments. Flohio is also worth a visit, known in particular for having opened for Princess Nokia and Mura Musa: rap lovers will not remain insensitive to the charms of the young London artist.

La Villette Sonique diversifies!

In addition to the concerts, will take place during the festival the Little Villette for the little ones, and the Village Label. On Saturday and Sunday, more than sixty labels will be present to make us discover novelties from all horizons around stands and showcases.

The prices are still attractive. For paid concerts, which are purchased per night, there are four price formats available, all depending on your status or subscription. For free concerts… Come as you are!
