31 March 2018. Grenoble. Ultra vomit, faith in agony, plague from the void.SOLD OUT.
On the occasion of this concert in Iséroise, we wondered who was Plague From The Void, who will provide the first part of the show this last day of March. We listened to their EP "Ends of Regrets", and we concluded that at least one article about them is needed. We got in touch with them, to talk about the deathcore scene, their projects, their musical and visual universe, and then about them too, because behind the music, there are 5 guys in love with big sound and full of creativity.
Plague From The Void is a Brutal Deathcore band from Grenoble
"Although we make so-called "extreme" music, we want to convey a lot of emotions, and convey the feelings we put into it, whether through lyrics or composition. That's why we released 'End of Regrets.'"
[Bryan Ramirez, singer]
The band was formed in 2015, and the artists have already given several concerts in Grenoble. They also participated in the Full Of Hate festival in Rumilly, where you may have already seen them if you are a lover of pogos and that melodious singing technique called guttural.
The first EP of Plague From The Void was released in January 2017 (we were already talking about it at JustFocus last month, ranking it in the top of the best albums of 2017.
Plague From The Void is also 5 musicians :
Bryan Ramirez (center-right in the photo) is the vocals, Pier Raven (center-left) is the bass, Yohann Indorato (right) is the drums, Lewis Clrz (summit) and Erwann Rhmndry (left) are the guitars.
The union of this quartet is at the origin of a rare musical specimen, born of chaos.
In "real life", i.e. next to concerts and rehearsals, Erwann is a salesman of accessories and airsoft equipment, Lewis waiter in a bowling alley, Yohann hairdresser, Pier examiner in clean room in electronics, and Bryan, formerly in charge of student event projects is recently unemployed.
Before being a group, the offspring of the apocalypse are good buddies
"And that's what I think is our strength, allows us to move forward and stay true. The project was born from the ground up between Lewis and Pier and our former guitarist." Bryan tells us. "And precisely what allowed us to move forward is that we all motivated and supported each other to move forward and get up to the level, in order to achieve the goals we wanted."
When asked if the elixir Plague From The Void contains other magical ingredients than friendship, the singer gives us this advice:
"Clearly whether you have a low or a high level, set goals and work, that's when you will see that only work pays! "
The end of the world and humanity in the background
"There are hundreds or even thousands of bands close to this style that exist, so you don't just have to make music, but make THE music that will show that no, you're not generic, that you have your own musical touch. You have to give it your all, if you even want to move outside your region and show the associations that you are worth putting on a poster !" recognizes the group.
So, what does Plague From The Void base its identity on?
In their clip No More, the silhouette of a character wearing a bird mask is cut out in the anxiety-provoking atmosphere. The same mask that doctors wore during plague epidemics between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries. This entity is also called a Lore.
"We have a dark theme, a little fantastic, related to space, the end of the world and humanity, the search for a cure for all that… We are trying to establish a Lore, which I think will remain part of our universe, but without ever getting stuck musically!"
[Bryan Ramirez]
We asked a special New Year's bonus question to Plague From The Void: whatcan we wish you for 2018?
PFTV: Not having a power cut during our records! [laughs]
And we understand their fear: if humanity is threatened, electricity may jump! For our part, we wish them every success.
