The Volunteered Slaves continues its career in the space line of John Coltrane, Sun Ra or Pharoah Sanders. The jazz band is preparing the release of its fifth album SpaceShipOne with the excellent single 24 ultra soaring. Come back ultra original with SpaceShipOne of the Volunteered Slaves who return with a fifth opus, an ode to space. The drive called SpaceShipOne is scheduled for September 2021. This French jazz band, bubbling with talents and ideas, releases this year its 5th album, SpaceShipOne, an ode to space that mixes jazz, funk, afro and electro. On this occasion, portrait of a collective of gifted musicians who decompartmentalize genres. Their albums follow one another: Streetwise, Breakfast in Babylon, The Day Aflter or Ripcord and draw a music both roots and very rooted in the ground, and airy, almost soaring. Live, bodies and minds heat up: even the most hushed jazz clubs can turn into a dance floor. Born in the fervour of the Marciac Jazz Festival in 2002, the group brings together colorful personalities and sharp talents: O.Temime on saxophone, Emmanuel Duprey on Rhodes piano, Akim Bournane on bass and Julien Charlet on drums. The diehards will be joined in 2016 by organist Emmanuel Bex.
