The Frenchy band Part Company returns to the airwaves with four new tracks, five years after their first EP, on Gum Label (The Shoes, Woodkid, Sage). We missed them.
Released in 2011, their first EP Babar contained a very ingenious eponymous title, slow chauffard that plunged us back into the throes of the seventies. Composing with a discreet keyboard and a queen drum kit, you could almost hear Lennon's echoes in this cleverly neglected voice. Enigmatic when it was not colorful and dreamy, Part Company is now giving way to an exquisite mix drawing eclectic influences, starting with the British pop of recent years.

Produced by the English Luke Smith (Foals, Petite Noire, Depeche Mode), four titles refresh this beginning of summer. Good weather is expected for this French group with British echoes. Reminiscent of the great years of The Kooks, Part Company manages to produce a sincere and free pop, melancholic melodies tinged with a charming folkloric side.
