It was on this sunny Sunday of Solidays that we had the chance to meet the multi-instrumentalist Ibrahim Maalouf!

French from Lebanon, he is one of his discreet artists but who make talk about them and their art. It is during a short press conference that he reads a little with us, revealing some of his current concerns.

He first tells us about a festival in which he had the chance to participate as an organizer: Main provise, initially his mother's project. This is the type of project he likes to invest in. Jazz concerts, meetings…

He also evokes a project of his aunt: a story that allows the learning of music theory in a playful way on which he would like to put his artistic paw.

He talks about how music is his whole life and that it occupies all his time, unfortunately not leaving him to discover new artists and he knows how much of a mistake it is and regrets it. This is a quality and a defect: to be too exclusive,

However, he is always happy and surprised to meet us musicians he knows and loves at the turn of a festival. He believes very much in the power of dating. He will not provoke them but often waits for What come to him, letting himself be surprised and falling on great opportunities that often give rise to exceptional collaborations.

Among the projects he loves the most, we find film music and the mix of genres. He claims not to be closed to a style and also easily collaborates with electro, hip hop, jazz artists … He also likes to produce other artists and allow new talents to emerge. There is so much to share! He favors promising projects with added artistic value!

Originally from Lebanon, he is touched by the cause of refugees. His parents were fortunate to be welcomed in France during a painful period and he does not understand that others do not also have the chance to get by today. He suffers with "our Syrian neighbors".

He was also affected by the Brexit decision in England and remains attentive to current events on this subject. Commitment is an indispensable value for the evolution of our society

He says that he often returns to Lebanon where he participates in musical emancipation, notably through a residency in an improvisation school. He also has projects with local artists, but they remain confidential for now.

A beautiful meeting and a breathtaking concert. A big thank you to Ibrahim Maalouf!
