With 8 studio albums, including 5 certified several times platinum, several global hits: "All I want to Do", "Soak Up the Sun", "The First Cut Is the Deepest", "If It Makes You Happy"…, the singer, musician, songwriter, and music icon has sold more than 35 million albums.
For this new album, driven by the desire to find the atmosphere of her first songs, Sheryl Crow joins forces with Jeff Trott, long-time collaborator during her career, and co-author of the titles "If It Makes You Happy" or "My Favorite Mistake"; as well as with her friend Chad Blake, with whom she had not worked for 18 years, to record and mix sessions.
The goal was not so much to reproduce the sound of that time, nor to repeat itself, but rather to feel again the energy of its beginnings, to revisit where it came from, and to see where it would lead it.
Challenged by the situation in the world this summer, Sheryl felt an urgent need to write. Be Myself is like his previous albums: thoughtful and candid. But it is also different, for the movement it represents: alook at today's world, fueled by the energy of sound from its beginnings.
