On March 27, 2020, Infinit' returned with his new album Ma vie est un film 2,  a direct sequel to his mixtape Ma vie est un film released in 2013. Between these two parts, Infinit' released 4 projects during which he was able to perfect his art. Project after project, the southerner tries to make a place among the best in the field, his pen as his only weapon.

A keen sense of rhyme

He is one of those rappers who have the facility to make words rhyme. Indeed, Infinit' remains honest and true to itself. Considered a "lyricist" by his friends, the Nice managed to keep this line of conduct that makes his reputation. Punchline lovers will be delighted listening to this album. Here is an example: "When I see all these laurels, I do not think that it looks like a bed, if knowledge is a weapon, my wad must look like a book". As the album progresses, the artist reveals the extent of his artistic palette to the delight of listeners. The title cigarette 2 haine , featuring Alpha Wann, is the quintessence of what Infinit' knows how to do. 3 minutes 08 of rap. Nothing more. Moreover, the title of the song is a reference to another featuring of the two rappers: Cigarette de joie. Title that was present on My life is a film, the circle is thus closed. The album opens with the title D'en bas. In this title, the rapper takes us to witness his rise: "I come from below, I can only go to the top". This infinite quest for the top is an obsession for Infinit'. He is willing to do anything to achieve this even if it requires the use of dubious means. This quest is carried out with Infinit' until the end of the project. However, My Life is a Film 2 concludes with a touch of emotion that contrasts with the rest of the project. Indeed, in Infiniment, he reminds us that despite all this ambition that inhabits him, he remains "Infinitely small in the infinitely large". The rapper opens up about his personal life, the death of his loved ones, his doubts … In short, everything that pushed him to be the man he is today.

An album with a southern accent

"I have 06 etched in my DNA, you can see on my skin that I am not Beriz." Infinit' is originally from Nice and keeps reminding us of this throughout the project. This pride is what makes it strong. The south is present in the album in different forms. Whether in the lyrics: "Fleet on the instru like a poucave corpse in the port of Nice", in the titles: Interlude 06 in reference to the Alpes-Maritimes department of which Nice is the prefecture. But also in the featurings. Indeed, Infint', Karim Braham of his real name, opted for a cast mainly composed of artists from the south. Gros mo comes from Perpignan, Deen Burbigo from Marseille and Veust from Nice. Only Alpha Wann and KSA are from the Paris region but are very close to the rapper. Image from the clip D'en bas

Interesting musical choices

As mentioned above, Infinit' is a lyricist. And his reputation as a kicker is not usurped. However, when a rapper is categorized as such, it is very hard for him to vary his musical atmospheres for fear of upsetting part of his audience. Nevertheless, the Niçois surprises by diversifying its flow, its instrumentals as well as the themes addressed. As a result, we can go from a song like Redbull with a very west coast and hovering atmosphere to a dancing track like interlude 06. The featuring thought with the singer Yeshe is as surprising as it is captivating. We can hear the rapper push the song and the result is rather pleasant. Infinit' knows how to surprise and excel no matter the instrumental.

References to cinema

With an album title like this, it was unthinkable that he would make no reference to the 7th art. In addition to appealing to rap fans, Infinit will appeal to moviegoers. For example, he cites the names of directors like Tarantino: "My life is a Quentin Tarantino movie" or Scorsese: "I arrive classic like a pair of Cortez, a North Face jacket, a scene from Scorsese". Or again, he refers to this famous sentence from the film The Godfather: "there's nothing personal, it's only business". Other references are hidden in this album that we will let you look for. In addition, the album cover is itself a tribute since Infinit' is in a movie theater. My Life is a Film 2 is one of the most convincing projects of this beginning of the year. Infinit' delivers us an almost flawless. The whole thing is coherent and we see right away where the rapper wants to take us. In addition, the productions and featurings bring a real added value to the album. Even after several listens, we don't see any songs to throw away. Categorized as a kicker, he has shown that he is much more than that. The rapper totally masters his art and no one will be able to dispute this fact.
