A first album resolutely 90's

Fans of Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, and nostalgic of the 90s will be able to rejoice at the arrival of Da-Break's 1st album: Da-Break.

In 10 tracks, they plunge us with delight into the groovy atmosphere that has permeated the whole decade with a slew of artists such as The Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest, Arrested Development, Naughty By Nature, Mary J Blige by associating beautiful funky samples well felt with Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop, electro influences and a touch of afro beats.

They thus make the philosophy carried by the Zulu Nation flourish wonderfully, at a time when only love, commitment and solidarity, sound and joie de vivre counted.

This musical freshness that comes from Lyon is carried by 3 artists: the producer Bruno Hovart aka "Patchworks", the singer Jennifer " Hawa" Zonou and the drummer Rémy Kaprielan. Our 3 acolytes are not at their first attempt since they have already collaborated on the albums of Mr President, Mr Day, CHK, Voilaaa or Hawa.

And the tone is set from the first title, Get Over (YOLO) where we find with pleasure a little taste of Juicy Fruit immediately swept away by the warm voice of Hawa who leads us to the chorus carried in children's choir.

All the influences are found in this opus which takes pretty colors. While Give Your Love and Bad Day take us through Hip-Hop corridors, Don't You Want to Party and Nothing More take the opposite approach with great sensuality.

We also travel between Funk and Afro Beat with Gotta Be Funky, Touch the Moon or Better Chill Now. Finally You Are My Sunshine is found in more smooth and jazzy tones, while Tic Tac brings a more electro touch.

With a clever mix of styles, the performance is also magnificently carried by the talent of Hawa, resolutely divine in her different interpretations.

Give Your Love: the first single from Da-Break's album

Listening here, the first extract that the trio presented last November, with a nice and colorful clip signed Arnaud Ly Van Manh where we find with joy all the codes of the 90's:

The album Da-Break is available since February 9, 2018 (La Ruche – Le Label). After a few performances in Lyon and the Paris region, the group will perform this summer, on August 24 and 25 at the first edition of the Watt the Funk festival, in Bessèges, in the Gard. They will also be at the Woodstower Festival in Lyon on August 31st, alongside Petit Biscuit, La Fine Equipe, Haute and many others.

Enough to raise the temperature a little more!
