On September 30, the duo ODESZA ignited the stage of the Elysée Montmartre, during an intense show, with Hayden James as special guest.

It was at the Elysée Montmartre, an iconic Parisian stage, that the American producers played their only concert in France this year. A beautiful and intimate place, like their third album, A Moment Apart, electro and chillwave masterpiece

"What about a hit?"

The first part was provided by none other than Hayden James. The Australian producer is famous in his country, although too little known in France, with an electro pop pulling towards house. His song Something About You (more than 45 million listens on Spotify anyway) was remixed by ODESZA and Just A Lover by Petit Biscuit. Like what he largely deserved his place alongside the American duo on this date. He was able to put the audience in a good atmosphere, and his set was very friendly, although a little pale in comparison to what followed. Nevertheless, he remains a talented artist, as shown in his latest single, NUMB, ft. Graace

"Tonight we show where we belong"

Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight played their music almost back to back, accompanied by a trumpet, a trombone and a bass player. On an LED screen, behind them, passed visuals sometimes delicate, sometimes psyche, surrounded by colored lights. The date did not have trouble to display full, and the public being connoisseur of the discography of the duo, I let you imagine the enthusiasm and euphoria of the spectators

So the duo played their last album, and clearly, it was difficult to be prepared for it. As beautiful and orchestral as their sounds may be, hearing them live in a place such as the Elysée Montmartre is almost an imaginary experience. Coming from A Moment Apart, we let ourselves be carried away by the solar Higher Ground, the clubesque Late Night and the mastered Line of Sight. However, it was missing some tracks, such as the late Thin Floors and Tall Ceilings.

"It's Only Love"

With the release of this latest opus, we almost forgot how great the duo's remixes are, and they did not hesitate to remind us. So, among other things, the remixes of ZHU and Hayden James (obviously) were sprinkled in their tracklist. In the same way, the Seattle producers returned to the classics of the album In Return : the monstrous Say My Name, the magnificent It's Only or the heady IPlayYouListen.

One of the strengths of ODESZA is that they rework their music, to bring out a different facet. The songs were more danceable, the bass deeper than in the studio. Also, they showed, once again, that their mastery of percussion was not just an overrated reputation, but an impressive show.

After doing the Olympia or the Positiv Festival, ODESZA's concert was grandiose, as always. As talented live as in the studio, the duo should thrive for years to come.
