Mathieu Hocine a.k.a Kid Francescoli ou le Kid offers us this week to discover his new album Play Me Again, released on Friday, March 3, 2017.

Play Me Again, new opus of the artist Mathieu Hocine, is a bit the continuation of his latest album With Julia that you can re-discover here. With Julia told the separation and carnal history between the Kid and Julia Minkin, an American musician with whom Mathieu Hocine had an affair.

Kid Francescoli returns in 2017 with Play Me Again announcing a renewal in his career. The love affair is beautiful well finished but gives way to a very personal and musical collaboration between the two artists. Julia Minkin now lives in the city of the Kid in Marseille, she participated a lot in the development of this album. According to Kid Francescoli: "With Julia evoked the end of our story, Play Me Again is about its transformation into a musical link, our growing complicity in writing". Julia appears in almost every song on the album, and that's good since her voice adds a real touch of sensuality and lightness.Kid-Francescoli_Play-Me-Again_credit_Hawaii_and_Smith_03_300dpi_COLOR (1)
Kid Francescoli's new album Play Me Again consists of eleven tracks with a very varied repertoire. We find in the background the style of the Kid with a romantic and light pop / electro. Play me again takes us on a journey through pop, electro, soul, R'n'B/rap and Reggae. Many styles that make this album a very easy to listen to record where the songs flow naturally.

The first track of the album Les vitrines gives the rhythm with a pop/electro specific to the Kid, a first successful song where Julia and the Kid sing in duet and in French. This music tells the story of the couple's estrangement, which was done without a headache. From America is the second title of the album, we hear very R'n'B / rap beats, sounds never before adopted by the Kid and found in the tracks Bad Girls, Pick me up and Come online.

One of the most remarkable tracks in this album remains for me It's only music, baby with its intoxicating pop/electro beats, the voluptuous voice of Julia Minkin and especially the sax solo that makes us travel. Emma is the only title with Reggae sounds that make us want to dance and that show that the Marseillais masters different registers.

Kid Francescoli offers us in this album what he knows how to do best: pop/electro beats with synth touches that make us enter a rather melancholic and nostalgic sphere. The songs Moon and The player perfectly characterize his identity.
Finally, The Insatiable Love closes this album on a register that corresponds to the musical style of Kid Francescoli with his synths and the voice of Julia Minkin.

Kid Francescoli shows us in this fourth album that he perfectly masters the different styles of music and that he has the ability to connect these musics between them. Once again, this album is a musical success as well as sentimental, by the story it tells. The only advice I can give you would be to close your eyes and let yourself be carried away in a dream while listening.
