Absent from the music scene since the release of his latest album DAMN in 2017, Kendrick Lamar is back in the news and decides to take the public on the wrong foot. While everyone was expecting an announcement about a new album, K.Dot unveils pgLANG, a platform at the service of creators. Here's what we know about this new project as enigmatic as it is ambitious.  Associated with Dave Free, former president of the Top Dawg Entertainment label, it was on March 5, 2020 that Kendrick Lamar unveiled its new platform dedicated to creators and content creation of all kinds. : Music, cinema, television. pgLang wants to be both diverse and unifying, just like its community. Indeed, as artists, the founders of the platform are aware of the many difficulties that young creators can encounter at their beginnings: Lack of means or exposure. The new media wants to sweep away these clichés by wanting to be accessible to all, regardless of their activity. On the platform's website, you can read a message that summarizes the interest of pgLang. However, black bands appear gradually on the text to leave only one sentence:

"Our community speaks different languages and breaks the codes for the curious. We are creators." pgLang

By removing the superfluous words, the message is clear, pgLang will swear by only one word: Creation. Text from the pgLANG website website The release of the site is accompanied by a short film. Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free at the helm. Rapper Baby Keem, actress Yara Shahidi and singer Jorja Smith as actors. The short film is very enigmatic. It is a succession of (beautiful) shots one after the other. Against the backdrop of criticism of today's society, pgLand invites us to disconnect from technology and look at the world with our eyes and not through screens. In addition, break the codes, remain yourself and do not hide behind false identities … Here are the keys that pgLang wants to pass on to young creators. pgLang promises to be a promising medium to allow creators to express their art freely. The platform is made by creators, for creators. In addition, the fact that Kendrick Lamar is behind this project is a guarantee of quality. Indeed, the artist has only successes to his credit in terms of album but also as a producer. We will see over time if this new project will live up to its promises. And who knows, maybe this platform will hatch the new talents of tomorrow.
