Singer-songwriter Nana Adjoa returns with her new music video No Room and announces her new album Big Dreaming Ants, scheduled for September 24. Raised in the Netherlands, Nana Adjoa took her first steps in the world of music by first studying bass at the Amsterdam Jazz Conservatory, then by embarking on songwriting. Inspired by the trip-hop and R&B of the 90s, the singer's music is melancholic, sensual, and mixes jazz, blues and pop.

A desire for freedom

After a first EP Down at the Root, Pt. 1, released in 2017, followed by Down at the Root, Pt. 2 and A Tale so Familiar in 2018, the singer is back with her song No Room. "I wrote 'No Room' as an echo of what we can feel when we have a conversation with someone who is stuck in small usual conversations," says Dutch-Ghanaian singer Nana Adjoa. "Trying to control the moment, leaving no room to discover the present moment, the other, or something new and unexpected. It's vague, but it's a feeling. The director, Robbert [Doelwijt Jr.], takes us out of the 'ordinary' space into this dreamlike landscape." His clip, with many references to his Ghanaian heritage, features the speeches we sometimes hear such as "When will you finally bring a man home?". Speeches that leave no door open to the unexpected or any freedom. Another song Throw Stones, unveiled in the form of video lyrics on June 18, plunges us back into the world of the singer who, through her texts, depicts the different facets of everyday life.
