Marie Mifsud had to postpone the release of her album Récif following the Covid-19 epidemic. She is back on 21/08 with this second disc announced by the hectic clip of Amusette. A release concert is scheduled for 16/09 at the Studio de l'Ermitage in Paris. Marie Mifsud finally returns on August 21 with her second album Récif , which swirls happily around jazz, song, pop, with an incredible inventiveness that reminds us of artists like Catherine Ringer, Camille, or Jeanne Cherhal, with whom the singer labeled jazz a little too quickly, has many acquaintances. Just listen to Amusette, and its clip shot at the end of confinement. Mary presents it as:
"A little fun around the musette style. His text is a trifle around Newton's theory of gravity by playing on the concept and transposing it to a relationship between 2 people. The idea being that when one gets closer, the other moves away and vice versa."
The album Récif is a vast continent to visit with attention. It hides many riches. We find the shock team of the previous album Là who revealed the artist to our ears: Marie Mifsud on vocals, Adrien Leconte on drums , Tom Georgel on piano and keyboard, Quentin Coppalle on flute, Victor Aubert on bass, and on two titles, a guest of choice, Pierrick Pédron on saxophone. Marie Mifsud is an amazing singer. Calm and polite in life, she goes crazy on record and explodes even more on stage. With her voice formed by lyrical singing, the singer renews the high-flying variety. After winning the Audience Award at the 2016 Crest Jazz Vocal International Festival, the Tremplin of the Union des Musiciens de Jazz de Paris and the 2nd Best Group Prize at the Sunside Trophies, Marie Mifsud continues the adventure with this second album to which we wish a beautiful armful of awards, and an extensive tour throughout the France. Here is as promised the handmade video of Amusette.
