Have you already spotted your favorite artists from Main Square 2018? We offer you a little musical appetizer to know what to expect on July 6, 7 and 8.

We tell you every time: Main Square, the major summer event of Hauts-De-France, is THE meeting place for lovers of live music and musical eclecticism. Taking place on July 6, 7 and 8, 2018, on the Citadel of Arras, the festival brings together thousands of people every year and offers itself the luxury of having very beautiful names in its programming each time. This year is no exception, here is a summary (not exhaustive) of the artists, live, that you can find on the two stages of Main Square this year.

Depeche Mode

How to miss the arrival of one of the largest groups in the world? The members of Depeche Mode do not disappoint their audience, and at each of their performances, the crowd of their fans is at the rendezvous.

Also not to be missed: Queen of The Stone Age (July 6), Pleymo (July 6)

Jamiroquai

The English group, led by the unforgettable Jay Kay, revolutionized the world of pop/electro music in the 90s, by infusing it with touches of r'n'b or funk, thus democratizing a musical genre that sometimes had a hard life. They have made generations of people dance with essential titles like Cosmic Girl, Space Cowboy or Little L. After a long hiatus and a new album in 2017, it is with undisguised joy that we await them on stage on July 8th.

Also not to be missed: Justice (8 July), ERDF (7 July), Jungle (6 July)

Liam Gallagher

The most rebellious of the Gallagher brothers chose the stage of the Main Square Festival in Arras to present the titles of his latest album, As You Were. The most rock'n'roll artist on the British musical landscape, Liam Gallagher is the link between the nostalgia of the Oasis years and the modernity of the pop/rock revival across the Channel. Plus, you never know what to expect with Noel's enemy brother…

Also not to be missed: Gojira (July 6), Girls in Hawaii (July 8)

IAM

Radical change of register. This time, it is the bosses of French rap / hip hop that we are waiting for. The band that punctuated our adolescence returns for a live that promises to be explosive and unmissable. After a few years of absence, the group that many consider the pillar of French rap has released its eighth album, Revolution. Promise to hear classics, and to discover new hits.

Also not to be missed: Nekfeu (July 6)

Orelsan

In the French rap family, I ask for the next generation! After a first album that has caused a lot of ink to flow, Orelsan confirms the test with a second opus (Le Chant des Sirènes) and, in 2017, it is the consecration with La Fête Est Finie. The young artist has offered himself a nice place in the playlists of rap lovers, but also in those of fans of songs with texts.

Also not to be missed: Romeo Elvis (July 6)

BB Brown

In the early 2000s, theFrench pop/rock scene saw the emergence of several baby rocker bands, fresh out of high school, shouting their heartaches armed with their guitars. Naast, the Shades, the Plasticines,… The (very) young artists parade and few of them have managed to last. But, only one has conquered several generations of fans, while renewing itself over the years: BB Brunes. Far from being satisfied with the success of their first album, BB Brunes have found a sound that suits them and that allows them today to continue to perform on the biggest stages of France, including that of Main Square on July 7.

Also not to be missed: Tom Walker (replacement of X Ambassadors, July 8), Loïc Nottet (July 8), The Breeders (July 6)

Here is our small selection of artists who will perform on both stages of the Main Square Festival 2018. Again, the list is not complete. Do not hesitate to discover the program, in its entirety!

There are still a few tickets and passes to buy on the festival website. As every year, do not delay because the tickets will leave very (very quickly)!
