Lous and The Yakuza, here is a name to remember! Her real name, Marie-Pierra Kakoma, the Belgian-Congolese singer has managed to establish herself remarkably in the music industry in a very short time. The craze is again at the rendezvous with the release of the song Good Actor in the Colors studios.
A journey strewn with pitfalls
Lous and The Yakuza was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2000, she joined part of her family who had immigrated to Belgium following the persecution suffered by her mother because of her ethnicity. A few years later, they decided to move to Rwanda but returned to Belgium following the Rwandan genocide. Lous quickly discovered a strong interest in music and decided to devote himself fully to it. Coming from a family of doctors, her parents hoped to see her follow the same path. Unfortunately for them, Lous was not ready to give up music, which led to her being fired at the age of 19. The young Lous will not let go of her passion and will spend her life juggling between small jobs and the studio in which she will eventually live. Experimentation, encounters and time will be the key to Lous refining his art.
Little Lous will become big
Well surrounded, especially by flourishing names of the Belgian scene such as Damso or Krisy, Lous is also starting to make a small name for herself in Belgium. In the first part of a number of concerts of the group L'Or du Commun, she enjoys a real spotlight! At the same time, she tried new arts such as learning musical instruments or painting. Then she finally decided to officially release a single: Dilemma. Success is at the rendezvous and not only in Belgium. A success beyond the European borders, even French-speaking, since Lous is heard in Italy, Canada, Turkey and the United States! Lous and The Yakuza is a worked universe, touching texts but also positions in vital fights. As a black woman, Lous uses her platform and voice to speak out against cumulative gender and racial discrimination. She was one of the personalities to speak at the BlackLivesMatters gathering in Brussels.
A new track confirming the craze
If Lous has released 7 EPs, they are no longer available on download platforms. It is therefore necessary for the moment to be satisfied with the few singles released since Dilemma. First there was the song Tout est gore and then a few months later Solo. Meanwhile Lous released a remix of Dilemma in collaboration with 2 Italians: singer Mara Sattei and rapper Tha Supreme. Once again, huge success for the artist! On June 29, Lous announced the release of a new sound entitled Bon Acteur on the youtube channel Colors Studio. Sweeter than his previous singles, the artist confides in a one-way love relationship. With Bon Acteur, Lous opens up more to her audience and proves by the musical aspect that she is able to diversify. Lous and The Yakuza had announced the release of their debut album entitled Solo on June 5, 2020, a day before their concert at We Love Green. Unfortunately, she was forced to postpone her release to a date still unknown because of Covid19. In the meantime, we strongly advise you to look into this young woman who, for sure, will be talked about a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWtEP3Uc8A8
