Loco Cello, the trio consisting of François Salque – cello, Samuel Strouk – guitar and Jérémie Arranger – double bass invites the world-renowned guitarist Biréli Lagrène on his second album Tangorom. Recorded at the Abbey of Noirlac, in the magnificent refectory of the monks, Tangorom sails from Astor Piazzolla to Django, passing through chamber music and Eastern European music. A crazy odyssey… Tangorom is a promise of travel from Argentina to Eastern Europe, passing through gypsy jazz and classical music. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Django Reinhardt, tributes to the gypsy master are not lacking. Among the many Nuages to come, Loco Cello's new album, Tangorom, offers a saving brightening by celebrating, with boldness and originality, another facet of Django: that of his lyrical playing through his passion for classical music. Loco Cello offers an ambitious musical adventure that weaves close links between classical music, jazz, and world music. Four musicians breathe together and reinvent the notion of string quartet by combining two guitars, a cello, and a double bass, around an aerial chamber music that is both melodic and swing. Loco Cello - Tangorom With guitarists Biréli Lagrène and Adrien Moignard as guests, Loco Cello captivates with music at the crossroads between writing and improvisation, rhythmic language and rubato, jazz and classical music. The music of this second album is a promise of travel from Argentina to Eastern Europe, through gypsy jazz and classical music. Recorded by Philippe Tessier du Cros at the Abbey of Noirlac, the album Tangorom reveals its sonic splendours, punctuated by astonishing stunts and other evocative folk explosions, like the Blues video extract in minor. The ensemble will be on 13/02 at the Café de la Danse in Paris, then on tour throughout the France. Here is the video of Blues in minor, with Biréli Lagrène.
