Simon's choices

Lorde Sober

Melodrama is out this Friday and here's the last single before its release. Sober is quite different from the other singles of the opus and rather recalls the era of Pure Heroine, which is pleasing. By discovering the album on Friday, tickets for his concerts at the Zenith in Paris and the Transbordeur in Lyon will be on sale the same day. In any case, we will be there!

London Grammar – Wild Eyed A real favorite of the latest album Truth Is A Beautiful Thing released on June 2nd, Wild Eyed

mixes the beautiful voice of singer Hannah Reid with beautiful melodies. The chorus remains mesmerizing and makes it one of the best songs of this second album, as good as the first.

Oh WonderHigh On Humans

Their second album Ultralife was supposed to be released this Friday but was postponed to July 14 for some reason. While waiting for this date, the band unveiled last Friday a new single entitled High On Humans. In the same ilk as the previous ones (Ultralife, Lifetimes, Heavy), we can't wait to listen to the album in its entirety. Note that Oh Wonder will be on the stage of the Trabendo on November 9th.

PJ Harvey – The Camp

Priestess of rock like her latest album The Hope Six Demolition Project released last year, PJ Harvey is back. Collaboration with Egyptian artist Ramy Essam, the song and the clip were made to raise awareness of the plight of refugees. To be found in Rock en Seine at the end of the summer…

RideLannoy Point

A few days before the release of their new album Weather Diairies, Ride has just unveiled a new single with the song Lannoy Point. Mark Gardner, the singer and guitarist of Ride, said: "Lannoy Point is my reflection on the mess that is going on with this 'Little Britain' upside down, this depressing Brexit era, full of blind faith." One thing is certain, with Lannoy Point, Ride makes us want to be on June 16 to finally listen to their new album. What if we were going to discover them live at the Pitchfork Festival in Paris from November 2 to 4?

X Ambassadors The Devil You Know

We had known them with Renegades (cf. from the VHS album released in 2015) and their pop rock sounds, the 4 Americans of X Ambassadors are back with The Devil You Know, the third single from their new production. If the song detonates from previous projects by its brass and almost soul intonations, the recipe works and it is easy to understand why the single was chosen to dress the trailer of American Made, Tom Cruise's next film.

Melaine's choice

SZA feat. Kendrick LamarDoves In The Wind

SZA, the young rising American singer unveiled this week her album Ctrl on which Kendrick Lamar, her labelmate, puts his imprint on the track Doves in the Wind (produced, by the way, by Chance The Rapper). She stated during her recent appearance on The Breakfast Club that this song was "dedicated to vaginas" (translation does not seem necessary). It is therefore behind her soft and bohemian style that the singer positions herself as a committed and feminist artist alongside the global rapper. They deal with the role of sex in relationships, with a reference to the movie Forest Gump as well as a nod to Redman's Let's Get Dirty (In the club). A piece therefore interesting both in substance and in form for an artist rather well surrounded!

Pierre's choice

Danger 11:50 ft. Lil Brain

10 years of waiting for Danger (Frank Rivoire) to finally give birth to his first album. A dense 15 titles, a bit disappointing when you follow the guy since his debut. However, each listen makes us adhere more to the whole album, which resonates as a very personal narrative concept. This track featuring Lil Brain is representative of this rise of the album.

Noucky's picks

Theo Lawrence & The HeartsMade To Last

We discovered them at the Mondial du Tattoo a few months ago and it is with pleasure that we announce the release of their EP Sticky Icky on CD on June 30th. Better yet, their debut album is expected in October. We will keep you informed. To wait, here is a little ballad, Made To Last, honeyed at will, which drips you between the shoulder blades and gives you chills. Their music between Rhythm & Blues and Rock has not finished making us vibrate.

Big Wool Always Goes Wrong

With a very 90 rock sound, here is a band that comes from Angers and plunges us into a sweet nostalgia. We remember the quality of the production, the softness of the timbre of voice and a hovering side that speaks to us. They celebrated the release of their first album last Friday and we recommend you listen to it.

ANAÏS – I found my mojo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qyyKLLh0AU&feature=youtu.be

A little sweetness of the weekend to start the week, here is the new title of the sparkling Anaïs who once again does not have her tongue in her mouth. Accompanied by Helena Noguerra and Nicole Ferroni (well known for her funny and relevant columns on France Inter), here is a crazy clip, fun and whose lyrics will stay in your head… Divergent, her next album will be released on September 22 and she will be in concert on October 5 at the New Morning.
