Gorillaz doesn't stop anymore. In the middle of a concert in Santiago, Chile, Damon Albarn surprised the crowd by announcing Gorillaz 's new album with a brand new sound.
8 years of absence were necessary for the legendary group to return, successfully, to the front of the stage with their album unveiled last December Humanz. We knew that the band intended to release a new album in 2018, but no one thought it would take less than 5 months to announce it.
"Usually, we take a break of at least five years, but then we thought, 'You know what? We just have to keep going' – because we have ideas for several more albums, so we'll go with that. This would be the case next year, and probably the year after," announced Jamie Hewlett, founding member of the group.
It was in Santiago, on March 20, that Damon Albarn finely announced the news. "But if, coming out of this concert, you shout from the rooftops that we will release an album very soon, I will deny the information, because I never said that, OK?" he jokes before singing Hollywood, the new single featuring Snoop Dogg (already present on Plastic Beach in 2010). Shortly after, the band's frontman announced that this track would be part of their next album, whose release would apparently be imminent.
In any case, no need to hide from you that we are waiting with the greatest impatience in the world for the continuation of events.
