Femi Kuti returns with a new album eagerly awaited by all fans of afrobeat and African rhythms, with detours by reggae and hip hop. If he carries high the torch of afrobeat, it is to better ignite the dance-floors of Africa and the West, hammering more explosive grooves and proudly taking up the political message that has been attached to it since Fela invented it. Almost ten years ago, on August 2, 1997, Fela Anikulapo Kuti disappeared. On this day, Africa is shaken with sobs and bathed in tears. The continent has lost its most famous musician, the creator of Afro-beat, but also the "Black President", as this irreducible opponent of Nigerian dictators has been nicknamed.
