Big surprise of the weekend: here is finally news of the Eurockéennes 2018 of Belfort and the programming promises to be epic! For its 30th edition, the festival did not skimp on the means and the names that we discover sell dreams!

Until now we had already hallucinated on the beginning of programming of the Eurockéennes. The return of NIN, Mackelmore… Beth Ditto, Orelsan, Texas, Liam Gallagher… only heavy and artists that we would not miss under any circumstances. Last Friday evening, it was during the news of France 3 that the festival unveiled the rest …and what's next!!! From July 5 to 8, it will be memorable!

Thursday at Eurockéennes 2018

Portugal. The Man

If you are looking for a funky band to start the festival, it will surely be with Portugal. The Man you will find your happiness. Light pop without fuss. It seems that on stage it is really worth the detour: expect excess!

Bloodshed

Here is a DJ who has already scoured the stages of the biggest festivals where electro has a place of choice. His predilection, to merge genres and styles. It is with heavy beats and crazy mixes that he risks blowing up the Eurockéennes audience.

Dreamwife

During our podcast in March, we told you about the festival "Women get involved". Dreamwife was part of the line-up: feminist and extravagant UK rock. The singer, Icelandic Rakel Mjöll, is a real phenomenon.

Fatima Yamaha

Born to a Turkish mother and a Japanese father, we could not imagine a more original mix to create music… just as original. An 80's electro funk, on which is grafted improbable songs and sounds from elsewhere. Hallucinatory!

Goldlink

Behind this rap with voluble flow and this soul voice hides full of meaning and emotion. Goldlink's music is not free, it is committed and allows us to discover the background of the thought of this elegant and charismatic artist.

Rich Brian

An amazing and unusual meeting in festival: Indonesian rap! The one who was more into cynicism and entertainment has matured. He, too, has things to denounce and tell.

Sampha

It is crowned by the MercuryPrize that Sampha returns to us. We hoped to see him back on the front of the stage and it is a pleasure to know him present at the festival. Great vocals, incredible groove and disarming soul music. We can't wait!!

Tank and The Bangas

They are part of our musical discoveries of the month of January and we are also very happy to know them programmed at the Eurockéennes.Born in New Orleans and worn by singer Tarriona "Tank" Ball, this group is not new but has only appeared here since last year. Finally!

Friday at Eurockéennes 2018

Baloji

Another talented Belgian: after Stromae, here is the next generation. Between jazz, funk and rap, Baloji does not hesitate to make us fruity and dynamic cocktails. Expect to dance and trawl to sweet music.

Faka

A black queer duo that challenges us and comes straight from South Africa. This country is becoming the cradle of a new emerging music: electro-ragga, hip hop, all with color while remaining minimalist. Let yourself be tempted and be curious!

FFF

The FFF group will come to the festival to celebrate an anniversary: that of "Vivant" the live album recorded at the Eurockéennes in 1997. Suffice to say that their energy will be double and multiply by the number of fans who will join the party… it makes noise!

Insecure Men

New line-up, Insecure Men brings together Saul Adamczewski of Fat White Family and Ben Romans-Hopcraft of Childhood. A meeting or rather a reunion between two old friends to deliver us a decadent indie pop.

Kiddysmile

That's the kind of personality we love and support. Kiddy Smile is a DJ, producer and fashion lover, instigator of voguing in France and bearer of a militant discourse in favor of the LGBT community. He will be at the Uurockéennes at the invitation of his friend Beth Ditto.

Leon Bridges

Rhythm and Blues with an old school sound dripping and a soul voice to melt the hardest hearts! This is a music that smells like the 50s and 60s and that will not fail to attract fans of good American music. Not to be missed!

Michelle David & the Gospel Sessions

She has all the greatest voices and could make Aretha Franklin or Sharon Jones blush. Michelle David is more than a voice; It is a soul that expresses itself and pours its emotions intensely into the microphone. It's soul, blues, gospel: a feast for the ears and we never get tired of it.

Nakhane

One of our discoveries of February and a very big crush, Nakhane will also be present this year. This South African of hypnotic beauty, androgynous will seduce you with his velvet voice and his electronic soul music with African accents.

Nothing But Thieves

So they… We love them. No more: we love them! Their second album is a killer that we listened to on repeat and that we highly recommended to you at the end of last year. Suffice to say that their presence is a catch-up session for latecomers and a second round for fans!

Our Girl

This is a new group coming from Brighton. With a garage-pop sound that sometimes turns noisy without destroying your eardrums, and a light voice that comes to place pleasantly on top, this trio has found a beautiful balance and we will enjoy discovering them on stage!

Pih Poh

Regulars of the Paris metro will certainly recognize this name. This Belfortain has no proof to make since he opened the concerts of IAM, Abd al Malik or Orelsan. A superb career that he will confirm on the Eurockéennes scene. Something to delight the locals!

Sophie

A new O.V.N.I feminine landed on our musical planet. Pop, electro… Flashy, arty, girly, sexy and… Totally crazy! The touch of madness of this extraordinary Scottish will blow on the festival and you just have to hang on.

Warmduscher

They're friends from Insecure Men and Childhood… In fact they came in gangs and they are less wise when they are all together. As much to tell you that it will move on a garage bottom that squeaks as it should.

Richie Hawtin Close

He will close Friday night with a set that can be memorable if you still have the energy to follow him. This Canadian is renowned for producing impressive shows between experimental music and ultra techno video. Be ready!

Saturday at Eurockéennes 2018

BCUC

South Africa is really in the spotlight this year with completely crazy mixes: psychedelic afro-funk, ragga and hip hop this time. A joyful and lively music that will take you on board in no time. Let's Go!

Caroline Rose

US rock that sounds like a chouille brit but sounds mostly mutinous and teasing. Caroline Rose has everything to make you jump and jump everywhere. It's fresh and bubbly, casual and wonderfully well orchestrated. To enjoy with friends!

Chronixx

Let's go to Jamaica, because what would a summer without reggae be? We ask you and we tell you: Nothing! So that's enough to swing you with Jamar Rolando McNaughton's suave and sexy soul voice. This artist is worth a visit!

IamDDB

Rap also goes hand in hand with the feminine and this English girl will show you perfectly. At IamDDB, it comes in the form of integrated rap tinged with syncopated soul, it is close to trap without diving into it and all with a groovy and graou flow. Enough to upset the codes!

Juliette Armanet

This poet is talking about her and even more since she pocketed a Victoire of the album revelation of the year. Her voice reminds us of Véronique Sanson, but more Lille. Of undeniable elegance and with a lot of charm.

Jungle

When it comes to partying, there's nothing better than the sound of Jungle. Their universal, unifying music will be there to move the festival-goers of the Eurockéennes on Pop rhythms. It's seven Londoners will give you the move.

Moha the Shark

Rushed start and direct projection on festival stages. To ask if it is not going too fast for Moha la Squale whose flow flows in a singular way on Youtube for a few months. This little guy is talking about him.

Ski Mask The Slump God

In terms of flow, here is a small pearl from Florida. This young rapper is truly surprising. He chains words with the precision of a scalpel and his stirring universe will not leave you still. His music quickly shakes you and embarks you.

Superorganism

Here is a group from all over the world: the United States, Japan, New Zealand, Australia or South Korea. The addition of grains of madness and originality creates a merry mess completely barred in which you will certainly take part. An atypical Pop!

All

The Irish are not to be outdone in this 2018 program. With Touts it is pure and uncompromising punk rock in the worthy lineage of The Clash. Their rock sends serious and it's nice to see that punk is not dead!

Truckks

A bit of French rock to show that we also know how to do it… Well! Lovers of headbang and poggo, this is the concert you should go to to let off steam. And they are very young! We hope that they will have their BAC before coming to the Eurockéennes.

Viagra Boys

Punk is also found in Sweden. And they have all the ingredients, in good doses: supercharged beats, fiery bass, saturated guitars, saxophones and sheared keyboards. Suffice to say that it may be energetic at will.

Wednesday Campanella

How to talk about pop without taking a tour through Japan? The Eurockéennes have understood everything by adding this artist as a cherry on the cake. A super cool voice and music that takes on irresistible disco accents. To see without fail!

Sunday at Eurockéennes 2018

Shakaponk

How to do a summer festival without Shakaponk this year. The French must-sees will be present to the delight of all. Widely acclaimed by critics and the Victoires de la musique, it will be quite a show on stage!

Lomepal

In the unlikely series of French rappers, there is Lomepal. Precise verb, words that fall right and a current flow that gallops; He speaks as he sings and it flows naturally. A talent for saying things simply as obvious.

Eddy de Pretto

The other name is him: Eddy de Pretto. After several complete Cicadas, the rapper is already going to conquer Zenith for 2019. This year and hers and the consecration will be on stage this summer. So be there to attend!

Dead Cross

We hadn't added a metal touch on the addition to the programming yet… Here is a first with the singer of Faith No More, Mike Patton and his new project. These crazy Americans produce a brutal metal that rather hits the Grind to scream loudly what is wrong with the USA.

Hall

Another rapper from the Brussels scene. A chaloupé rhythm, a song more than a flow, Caribbean inspirations and lyrics of lovers. Hamza decided to raise the temperature but would you be seduced? Response to the Eurockéennes.

Marlon WIlliams

He comes from New Zealand to make us listen to folk rock music with a slightly country sound and a crooner's voice that is hard to resist. He's already conquered Bruce Sprinsteen himself, so chances are you'll like it.

Seasick Steve

He could be friends of the ZZ Top with such a beard. This patriarch of the blues guitar will fill your ears. Regardless of his age, he has seduced all generations and his communicative energy allows him to ensure crazy shows. A must see!

The Blaze

Another ultra trendy electro duo of the moment, do not miss the performance of The Blaze. Cousins Guillaume and Jonathan have been noticed lately as much with their music as with their clips of Territory which has mediatized them in a very short time.

The Limiñanas

A French indie rock band that sounds 60's. We think of the Rolling Stones, we think of the psyche, we think of a lot of stuff… We let ourselves be taken on this little journey into the history of rock. A little return to the roots that feels good.

Zeal and Ardor

A personal crush, an unlikely discovery a year ago with the title Devil is Fine. I am not necessarily a fan of Black Metal but I must admit that this mixture with Negro Spiritual is particularly impressive and effective. Zeal and Ardor is this marriage that music still lacked. Thank you!

The other surprises of the Eurockéennes 2018

The Eurockéennes never cease to amaze us and have planned some big surprises to celebrate the 30th edition:

  • 9 pilots aboard Alphajeta planes of the Air Force patrol will fly over festival-goers on Sunday for an extraordinary air show.
  • The visual artist Saype will offer a fresco in the city of Belfort on the ramparts of the Porte de Brisach. That is 5,000 to 10,000 m² of biodegradable paint made in the last week of June and which should remain in place for a month.
  • A Ferris wheel will be set up on the Malsaucy site towards the entrance. It will be the best place to observe the concerts and illuminations of the festival.
  • The festival will close with a fireworks show on Sunday evening. A wonderful moment not to be missed

We are already looking forward to it and we are trembling with impatience. But in the meantime, don't forget to take your places and book your campsite;)
