The first concept album Hybris by the Italian band Moebius, mixed and mastered by Daniel Bergstrand, is available since October 20th!
Composed of Gabriele Sanna on guitar and EBow, Nicola Lampis on bass, Valentino Sanna on drums and percussion, Moebius has since July 2017 Andrea Orrù on vocals and Andrea Palmas as second guitarist.Matteo Guida, originally on vocals, is the author of the lyrics of the album. If the name Moebius rings a bell, it's because the band chose him in reference to August Ferdinand Möbius, a German mathematician and astronomy theorist. Indeed, the entire album is built around the Möbius ribbon. Hybris is the result of four years of work on the part of Moebius. The band modeled their album around mathematical concepts for their music and drawing inspiration from the stories of ancient Greece for their lyrics. Moebius sums up Hybris in a few words:
Math. Groove. Metal.
Inspired and original, Hybris is an intriguing and refreshing album of eleven tracks, two of which have already had their video, which you can find on Moebius' YouTube channel. The first, Coal, seventh track of the album, is already very original and you can even see the famous Möbius ribbon. The second single is Mercury, the fourth track of the album, which marks the last act of the first cycle. In this title, the rhythmic patterns represent Morse code words foreshadowing the next cycles.
With a concept as unique as it is exciting, no excuse is allowed not to be interested in Moebius' work! And those who are not very fond of metal can rest assured, their album includes some sweets that accompany wonderfully the spice of the other titles!
