The British electronic music duo has announced the release of their album Energy. It will be available from August 28. The kings of the dance-floor have just released a very funny and energetic clip from their eponymous single. Five years after their second album Caracal, the British house duo announces their return with their album Energy. All dance-floor fans are delighted with this news and will find on the album Fatoumata Diawara, Kelis, Kehlani, Slowthai and Common. Just unveiled, Disclosure released this last Thursday a very zany and futuristic video clip. According to the two brothers, Eric Thomas inspired the title of their album:
"Basically, what he's saying is the concept of the album, that's why Energy became the title track. When we came across Eric years ago, he was a goldmine of inspirational quotes." "Even when he was talking to a room of five, it was like he was addressing a stadium. He has an immense presence and an energy that translates so well into music – especially house music."
The music video shows that the duo sampled the pastor's words. According to them, he has motivational speeches that had already been taken up in 2013 by the brothers in their title "When a Fire Stats to Burn".
Inspired by a scene from a Woody Allen movie
Directed by Kid Studio, the music video depicts the race of sperm to the egg. Indeed, the mustachioed man is a metaphor. The latter gets up, prepares and then launches into a race through a pink tube. As Franceinfo notes, these sequences are inspired by a scene from the film Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex Without Daring to Ask (1972) by Woody Allen. Finally, the title is very dynamic from the start with hectic afro-house rhythms. These rhythms, we find them in all the big hits of the British duo. The music switches to beautiful synth tablecloths of house music.
