Delphine Coutant unveils a grandiose and poetic work with her sixth album 2 Systèmes Solaire recorded with a String Octet. We reveal in extract the superb title La Galaxie du Sculpteur. "2 Systèmes Solaire is a work born from my intimate sources in contact with scholarly music. My two solar systems are represented by strings and brass, each entity distributed on either side of the piano, opposing their timbres, sometimes merging … " Delphine Coutant To write the score for Octet of 2 solar systems, she studied for four years musical writing, arrangement, orchestration at the Conservatory of Music of Nantes. She has been in residence at the Laboratory of Planetology and Geosciences of Nantes, the Planetarium of Nantes and the museum reserves of the Natural History Museum of Nantes. For the recording, Delphine has surrounded herself with a string quartet and a brass trio to give birth to a singular work with sometimes romantic, baroque accents where some electronic sounds are delicately invited. Five albums punctuate her work as a singer-songwriter: "Alouette" (2002), "Comme le café prevents de s'étendre" (2005), "La marée" (2009), "Parades nuptiales" (2012) and "La nuit philharmonique" (2016). Her shows resemble the UFO that Delphine Coutant is: a walk in mysterious territories, a visual and sound form where visual arts and contemporary dance infuse creation. Uncategorized. Delphine Coutant - 2 solar systems With Deux systèmes solaires, her new album and show, she takes us somewhere else: into a very personal galaxy where the piano, like a 13-billion-year-old star, shines without ever overshadowing the string quartet and brass trio that surround it. First single from the album, Delphine Coutant takes us on a journey into The Sculptor's Galaxy. The clip was filmed in rehearsal by Yannis Pachaud, and shows this abundance of materials and sounds, as close as possible to each musician, through a camera movement that continues to rotate slowly as in the rotation of the planets.
