At the Climax Festival in early September, we had the chance to see The Kooks and it was great!
Climax Festival took place on the first weekend of September in Bordeaux. On this occasion, many bands were present including Franz Ferdinand, Peter Doherty, Fakear, Kungs but also The Kooks ! They performed on Friday, September 8th and offered us an unforgettable show !

The band arrived on stage and was immediately cheered by festival-goers who all gathered to see The Kooks tonight! Luke Pritchard, Peter Denton, Hugh Harris and Alexis Nuñez kicked off their performance with the dynamic Always Where I Need To Be that set the tone for the evening: an electric concert where no one will get bored. The British band continued their concert with Eddie's Gun and Sofa Song, tracks featured on their debut album which celebrated its eleventh anniversary recently.
With the cover of their latest album Best Of … So Far, opus that compiles several of their hits including Bad Habits which will be unanimous at Climax with the famous hip of Luke Pritchard. The concert then continued with the classics She Moves in Her Own Way, Jackie Big Tits and Sway that fans present tonight will sing at the top of their lungs.
It was then the turn of Be Who You Are , their new single, which convinced festival-goers ! The concert continued with iconic titles such as Yor Dont Love Me, Matchbox and Ooh La. Then comes the turn of the inevitable Seaside sung in acoustic which left no one indifferent and will especially earn us a beautiful moment where everyone sang in chorus the lyrics.
The concert ended with the dynamic Westside, but also Junk of the Heart (Happy) who has just celebrated his 6th birthday, Around Town and the emblematic Naive who closed this concert in style.
After the performance of The Kooks at the Climax Festival, the fans had stars in their eyes, the festival-goers wore a smile. Everyone was convinced and amazed by these 4 musicians from Brighton. Eagerly the return of The Kooks in France, we look forward to them.
