It was at Yoyo in Paris that the winner of " Britain's Got talent" 2015 Calum Scott came to make his first concert on April 26, to defend his album Only Human.
Eagerly awaited by the French public but also already followed by his Anglo-Saxon fans, he opens the show with his title Come Back Home. At the end of the second song Only Human he announces the color in a charming smile: his goal is to make us move a little, certainly, but especially to make us cry a lot.
And it's a successful bet: especially with Mama Told Me who tells the moment when our beautiful singer came out to his parents. You Are The Reason inspired by his grandmother or Won't Let You Down dedicated to his sister Jade, all his titles are declarations of love, sorrow, joy, courage.
There was a lot of positive energy, a lot of simplicity and brightness that night at Yoyo. The emotions that Calum Scott conveys in his voice, music and lyrics are universal. And it is probably because Calum Scott is a beautiful person, and not just a good artist, that he manages to touch his audience, with his generosity and authenticity.
And to finish all in charm, at the time of his penultimate title, he launches us a cute "Fans, I love you!" carrying the tricolour flag on his shoulders. Well, we love it too!
To discover: Barbara Pravi and Daniel Docherty
Special mention for the first two parts of the concert: the sparkling Barbara Pravi, who you can read more about in the article by Anouck and Daniel Docherty, a young Scot from Glasgow with raw talent, who particularly challenged me from the first notes. Armed with a beautiful and powerful voice, he inhabits the stage with his simple guitar and has been able to tape the whole room unanimously. "Thank you very much, used to play some street music and really enjoyed doing it in Paris."
I strongly advise you to go see him give voice and knit the neck of his guitar if you have the opportunity. Unfortunately, he has no more dates planned on the France for the moment, to see him soon he will have to go to Great Britain. Artist to follow (on Facebook, Twitter and Spotify)!
