Second day in Beauregard, and it is this time under the sign of rock that Just Focus decided to start its mop through the stages.
Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters
In front of the stage, two different audiences eagerly awaited the arrival of Robert Plant, one having experienced the Led Zeppelin period, the other regretting having been born too late. But for many, it was also an apprehension of what a Robert Plant would give on stage without Jimmy Page. At 67 years old, was he still capable of performances worthy of the title of "best singer of all time", which Rolling Stones readers attributed to him in 2011?
Robert Plant arrives on stage accompanied by his backing band, The Sensational Space Shifters. And it only takes a few songs to understand that the British singer deserves his reputation. His powerful voice accompanies a polymorphous rock strongly rooted in the rock of the 70s. The training that accompanies it is not to be outdone since great importance is given to musicians. We will particularly appreciate the passages of ritti, a kind of African violin, played by Juldeh Camara. Beautiful musical exchanges will also take place during quiet songs where the sweet voice of Robert Plant will mingle with the guitar playing of Liam Tyson. At the end of the concert, a revisited "Whole Lotta Love" thrilled Led Zeppelin enthusiasts. This will be the only cover of Led Zeppelin and if at first, we can regret it, we finally understand that it was the best thing to do. To play on nostalgia, with a formation amputated of almost all of its original limbs, is certainly to run the risk of falling into self-caricature. Robert Plant has been able to reinvent himself, turning his back on his former band, to be able to give a real interest to his solo career. Few singers manage to detach themselves from their previous career, and too often we witness either an involuntary parody or a fall into the depths of banality. Robert Plant goes beyond that, and it is without any hesitation that we can say that he is indeed one of the best singers of all time.
The Avener
It is with much less expectation that we approach the show of the French DJ and producer, The Avener. However, we will surprise ourselves to have a good time. Play of lights and catchy music will transform for an hour, the floor of Beauregard into Dancefloor. Beauregard's audience, particularly fit, will be able to transform a performance without great ambition into a playground for excited dancers. We will see some pogos in an electro-pop universe, a non-usual but appreciable mix.
The Kills
It is from afar that we will attend the concert of The Kills but the couple of rockers will make us have a good time. An effective and classy rock, which will end the evening of some, reluctant to attend Fakear's concert.
Fakear
But for Just Focus, the evening is not over, and it would have been inconceivable not to attend Fakear's concert. The latter, originally from Caen, returned home for the closing of Saturday evening. It is also by a "How is the house?" that he marked his attachment to the city that had given birth to his musical career. Already passed by Beauregard 3 years ago, we feel that the young man has been able to evolve his music while remaining in the same musical vein. A harpist, a keyboardist, a bassist and a drummer accompany him, which is particularly appreciable and allows to give a more organic sound to his electronic music. We feel that Fakear feels a real pleasure in his music and it is a pleasure that we will share with him during an hour of concert.
