AURUS releases Mean World Syndrome, his new music video to be found on his first EP AURUS which will be released on June 12, 2020. AURIS is the project of the Reunionese Bastien Picot. An extraordinary singer and eccentric artist, who can be found hidden under a metal headdress. An appearance that evokes Sun Ra, another musician connected to the stars. AURUS asserts its powerful originality with each video, which sees it collaborate with a different artist. For Mean World Syndrome, Sébastien Labrunie was in charge of visual pyrotechnics. Besides, the Mean World Syndrome actually exists. It is the distortion of our perception of the world created by the screens around us. It is a tendency to perceive the world as more dangerous than it is, because of too much exposure to the media.
An EP soon in stores
This new track follows Momentum and The Abettors with Sandra Nkaké. Two extraordinary videos to find on Youtube, which show the career of Bastien Picot. With AURUS, he diverts maloya, the traditional music of Reunion Island, and makes it join the pop of today. These three tracks, with the addition of Scalp which has not yet been disclosed, will be found on the EP AURUS which will be released on June 12, 2020. 
A musician apart, AURUS is about to impose itself thanks to his concerts that leave the audience flabbergasted. As much by his bewildering voice as by his particular charisma.
"We don't really see what more we can demand from Aurus: maybe a comb to help the public to fix their hair after his passage. (…) It is a whole polyphonic orchestra that he is able to shake along his vocal cords (…) It jostles without ever stumbling." said of him Franck Cellier in the Quotidien de la Réunion after his concert at the Francofolies de la Réunion.
It is therefore hoped that his tour will be rescheduled after the coronavirus epidemic. In the meantime, we still have his clips to discover.
