After a year of hiatus, almost to the day, the duo Twenty Øne Piløts is back. Two singles, a concept album, a world tour and a music video all in the space of one day, JustFocus takes stock of the brutal return of one of the emblematic figures of the current alternative scene.
It had been a year since Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun had not given any sign of life on social networks, to the great misfortune of their fans, who occupied their time between theories about the new album and nostalgic posts. We had been sniffing the scent of a near return for some time, and since the beginning of the week the new yellow logo of the group has been displayed in cities around the world.

With small teaser videos, they came back as they left: with the symbol of an eye that opens and closes. With these videos, the introduction of a new concept, directly following that of their last album Blurryface, which featured the eponymous personification of Tyler Joseph's doubts and anxieties.
It is with Blurryface that the two boys of Twenty One Pilots conquered the charts, multiple times awarded platinum and gold. After several singles like Ride or Heathens, they pulled back the curtain after almost two years of touring and work.
"Time to wake up"
Trench is the name of the fifth album that will be released on October 5th . If the extent of the concept is not yet fully known, we can already say that it arises in the continuity of the Tyler Joseph / Blurryface relationship. More complex than we think, in the teaser clues left by the group, appeared new characters: Clancy or the Sleepers.
And the Sleepers are here! The band unveiled the first video of their new era at the same time as their two new singles, and it was Jumpsuit who had the right to his video. Dreamlike or even nightmarish atmosphere, time seems frozen while the singer tries to escape the grip of a mysterious figure on horseback. Jumpsuit is a powerful piece in two stages, sometimes saturated sometimes more airy: a beautiful suite for the particular sound of the group, a renewal that takes the identity of the duo.
Second single, Nico And The Niners is more influenced, like Ride, it is the return of rap and some reggae sounds but also the famous deep voice in the background: the same that was present on Blurryface. This new era promises to be a treat for the most theoretician fans, many bridges are to be made between the clips and the old and newer songs. Twenty One Pilots is a band driven by the creativity of its musicians, its team and its fans.
So they could have stopped at these revelations, but a few American dates were announced and they quickly turned into a world tour : The Banditø Tøur . Thus, and for our greatest pleasure, TØP will present Trench at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris on March 11, 2019.
