Released in 2013, the apocalyptic film that has finally found a director for its second part since last June, now has a shooting date.

We almost didn't expect it anymore, but World War Z will indeed have a sequel. After four years of absence on the big screen, David Fincher will be at the helm of the project, and a shooting date was revealed by producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner to Variety :

"We're starting to shoot World War Z 2 in June," they announced since the premiere of Beautiful Boy.Brad Pitt plays Gerry Lane, he's back."

The actor would indeed be wrong to miss this opportunity, the first film having been the biggest success of his career. World War Z had grossed more than $500 million worldwide.

We also learn that Dennis Kelly, from the series Utopia, will be writing. Currently being rehabilitated, the producers say they are very satisfied with the work of the screenwriter.

Based on the novel by Max Brooks, the first World War Z film tells the story of a father's adventures during a lightning epidemic that turns humans into zombies all over the world. Some surely remember the horrifying gnapping of teeth of these ultra-fast zombies.

A busy year for David Fincher, who has returned for a second season of the series Mindhunter, but also for Brad Pitt, currently on the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the next film by Quentin Tarantino, which should be released in August 2019.
