Expected on March 1, 2017 in our theaters, Wolverine 3 will see the return of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart in their respective roles, and James Mangold to direct. As for the villain, Bryan Singer revealed who was going to give Logan a hard time.
Wolverine will make his last appearance as Hugh Jackman. The Australian actor who has worn the suit since the first X-Men in 2000 has announced that Wolverine 3 will be his last adventure in the skin of the clawed mutant. We still know little about the stakes of the feature film, supposed to be inspired by the comic book Old Man Logan which narrated the tribulations of a tired Wolverine in a future ruled by the super villains. His regenerative power is very weakened and he no longer believes in anything. However, he was accompanied in this adventure by Hawk's eye, but cinematic rights oblige, the archer belonging to Marvel Studios, Universal is forced to adapt with Professor Xavier.
In the bonus features of the X-Men Apocalypse DVD Bryan Singer revealed the identity of the great villain of Wolverine 3. In the comments of the post-credits scene of the film, the filmmaker announces that Mister Sinister will be the antagonist of Wolvie. In this so-called post-credits scene it is about a man carrying a briefcase stamped Essex Corp who enters the Weapon X complex. Essex is the real name of Mr. Sinister whose powers grow as he experiments with mutants. This super villain appears in the comics in 1987 and is transformed by Apocalypse, he then becomes almost immortal, gets superhuman strength, psionic abilities like telepathy. It is also able to teleport, regenerate and metamorphose. So for Wolverine's last dance, James Mangold chose a high-flying villain, capable of harming the powerful mutant.
It now remains to be seen who will lend his features to embody Mister Sinister knowing that theoretically Boyd Holbrook has been hired to play the great villain of the story, while Richard E Grant will be a mad scientist. No official statement about the actor supposed to take the features of the super villain. Wolverine 3 will be released next March and should normally be rated R in the United States like Deadpool before him.
