In 2012, Whitney Houston passed away. She was 48 years old at the time… Eight years later, a biopic of the American singer is currently in preparation. The project would be written by the writer of Bohemian Rhapsody. The site Deadline reports that a biopic of the American singer Whitney Houston, who died in 2012, is currently in preparation. The film will be entitled I want to Dance With Somebody, in reference to one of the hits of the great singer. It will be written by a big name in cinema, Anthony McCarten, the New Zealand screenwriter who wrote Bohemian Rhapsody. He also worked on The Dark Hours and A Wonderful History of Time which won Rami Malek, Eddie Redmayne and Gary Oldman the Oscar for Best Actor. As for the staging, Stella Meghie (The Photograph) would be negotiating for this ambitious project. Whitney Houston's heirs have indicated that they are dubbed the project and will make available the singer's rich musical catalog. The latter had already been entitled to a documentary in his effigy in 2018. The producers, including Clive Davis (who signed the artist to his very first contract), announced in a statement "their joyful, emotional and overwhelming celebration of the life and music of the greatest R&B/pop singer in history, her journey from obscurity to musical superstar status". The most awarded female artist in history, Whitney Houston has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide! Among the most famous, we especially remember All My Love for You, I want to Dance With Somebody, How Will I Know, Greatest Love of All or his memorable cover of I Will Always Love You, the flagship track of the mythical Bodyguard. In this film, Whitney Houston starred alongside Kevin Costner. Even today, the film's soundtrack remains the best-selling in the world. The big question (and not the least) that remains is which actress will have the heavy responsibility of embodying on the big screen the grandiose and late Whitney Houston. So it's a case to follow very closely…
