The move follows the publication of a New York Times op-ed accusing the animal of promoting rape culture. This Sunday, March 7, Deadline revealed that the famous Looney Tunes character has been removed from the editing of Space Jam 2, a highly anticipated sequel to the cult film of the 90s. This decision was taken a few days after the publication of an article written by journalist Charles M.Blow in the New York Times. In this column, the journalist accused Pépé le ferret of promoting rape culture. Born in 1945, the character of Pepe the polecat is the archetype of the heavy flirt, libidinous obscene limit. "It was so important for [her] to be in this film. Even though Pepe is a cartoon character, if anyone had the opportunity to slap a sexual stalker like him, Greice would have liked it to be her."
Space Jam 2, directed by Terence Nance and produced by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), will nevertheless feature Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes.
