The British actor who plays Eddie Brock in Venom has unveiled a small video of the continuation of the adventures of the Marvel symbiote which now has a new title and a new release date.

A highly anticipated sequel

The rest of Venom's adventures becomes clearer and moves away at the same time…Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote are indeed back for the second installment directed by Andy Serkis. Thanks to Tom Hardy and Sony, we learned the new title of the next film. Tom Hardy teased the film on Instagram. And, it is also on this same platform that the actor unveiled a scene without special effects of VenomSony shared the teaser for the film on Twitter. The title of this second opus is Venom 2, Let There Be Carnage. The production company also took the opportunity to communicate the new release date of the film in theaters, now postponed to June 25, 2021. Through this new title, fans of the anti-hero with the tongue hanging out will have immediately understood the allusion to the character Carnage, a great villain of the Spider-Man comics universe. Remember, in the post-credits scene of Venom , we see Cletus Kasady-Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson. The latter, who only wanted to talk to journalist Eddie Brock, announced: "When I get out of here, and I do, there will be… a carnage". A sentence that announced the title of this second film, whose precise scenario is still unknown.

Carnage, small presentation

A quick introduction to the character of Carnage for those who do not know him. In the comics, Cletus Kasady-Carnage is a serial killer and Eddie Brock's cellmate. When the latter decides to flee with the help of Venom, he leaves behind a small symbiote that comes to attach and merge with Cletus. This fusion will then give birth to the character of Carnage. A much more violent and bloodthirsty version of Venom, since he kills innocent people for his personal pleasure. Also in the comics, Spider-man offers Venom a deal so they can stop Carnage together. We can therefore legitimately wonder if Sony will use this part of the Venom story to include Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) in his film. Again, nothing is said yet. This gives free rein to our overflowing imagination! Venom 2, Let There Be Carnage is directed by Andy Serkis, the grandiose interpreter of Gollum in the Lord of the Rings saga . He too is familiar with the Marvel universe, having played the arms dealer, Ulysses Klaw, in Avengers 2 and Black Panther.
