Expected for the end of the year, Venom 2 already offers us new shooting photos. We discover Woody Harrelson who returns to play Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage.
We know very little about the film's synopsis. Woody Harrelson returns to play the villain of Marvel Comics. It was briefly featured in a post-credits scene of the first film. You may remember, Cletus was red and curly. He has a new hairstyle here and Harrelson will have a different wig for the future.
Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom in the sequel. He recently featured an image of Woody Harrelson's updated look, as did photographer Greg Williams. These new photos offer us by far the best glimpse of what's to come. We see Woody Harrelson in a Hawaiian shirt, with a white jersey, skull necklace and black pants… Cletus looks ready for a trip to Florida! More importantly, we see that the hardened criminal has lost his big locks of red hair in favor of a shorter style that looks a lot like a toupee.
Plot details are largely kept in envelopes for Venom 2. We know that Venom and Carnage will be going to face each other on the big screen for the first time. Carnage is a favorite villain of Marvel Comics fans, known for his appearances in major storylines such as Maximum Carnage. Cletus Kasaday, a brutal serial killer, binds himself to a symbiote and becomes Carnage. And this one is even wilder than Venom.
Andy Serkis at the helm for the sequel
Andy Serkis will be a director in the film's directing team. Best known as an actor for his work in franchises such as The Lord of the Rings and Planet of the Apes, he made a name for himself as a director with Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. The other cast members are Naomie Harris (Skyfall, Rampage), Stephen Graham (The Irishman, Snatch) and Michelle Williams, who will return as Anne Weying.
See you in theaters next October to discover the sequel to Venom!
