It's been a year since a terrible fire savagely destroyed part of the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Memorable, this fire will also soon be on the big screen since the filmmaker Jean-Jacques Annaud would be working on a film. It was at the microphone of RTL last Friday that Jean Jacques Annaud made this revelation. If his name speaks to you, it's because he is one of the greatest French directors. Starting with The Name of the Rose (1986), The Bear (1988), The Last Wolf (2015) and recently the series The Truth About the Harry Quebert Case  (2018) with Patrick Dempsey. A film about the fire of Notre-Dame de Paris by Jean-Jacques Annaud

The story of a mythical drama in Paris

This time Jean-Jacques Anneau attacks a monument, it is the case to say it. He is preparing to stage the fire of Notre-Dame de Paris in a feature film.

"I will rebuild part of Notre-Dame on the night of the fire and what preceded it, to live from the inside the events at once unheard of, spectacular and disturbing of emotion and suspense"

Attentive to all the details, he is inspired by all the documentaries on this subject to get as close as possible to reality: progress of the investigation, reconstruction of part of the building, and emotions of the crowd. All his research is being written through his various scenarios that will be completed in May.

"It's a little crazy hope, but it's a film we want to make quickly. There is momentum on this project, but obviously we can not take the slightest health risk and we know that a shoot is necessarily a place of proximity."

Jean-Jacques Annaud hopes to start filming this summer. Of course, the pandemic must have almost disappeared by then…
