There will not be only Marvel movies at Disney in this first quarter of 2018. Yes, in addition to the release of Black Panther in February, the studio with big ears will release a big family production called A Shortcut in Time.
It cannot be said that Disney is resting entirely on its laurels. Despite the box office failure of the excellent In pursuit of tomorrow, they release on March 14 a new ambitious production called A Shortcut in Time. It is an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name by Madeleine L'Engle.
The film is aimed at a family audience and dreamers since we follow a young girl whose father has mysteriously disappeared while working on a scientific project. She will be dragged in pursuit by three mysterious characters through a time shortcut.
A project that we would not necessarily dwell on if it were not directed by Ava DuVernay, the brilliant director of Selma. The trailer reveals too much but it shows different particularly shimmering visual universes that will delight fantasy lovers.
The cast is very high since we find Oprah Winfrey, Michael Pena, Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon or Gugu Mbatha-Raw. A beautiful association of names that should ensure the film a good debut at the box office.
