Focus on the promising film noir La Nuit Venu, for which you can now discover the trailer. Paris 2018. Jin (Gang Huo), a young undocumented immigrant, has been a ride-hailing driver who has been subject to the Chinese mafia since arriving in France five years ago. This former DJ, passionate about electro, is about to settle "his debt" by multiplying the hours of driving. One night, out of a box, a disturbing young woman, Naomi (Camélia Jordana – Le Brio), gets into her sedan. Intrigued by Jin and stubborn by his music, she offers him to be her official driver for his night trips. During their races in the underworld, a story is born between these two solitary night owls and pushes Jin to break the rules of the environment. La Nuit Venue is Frédéric Fannuci's first feature film, which seems to herald a film noir carried into a new setting. We are in a Parisian universe, talking about the Chinese mafia. The choice to deal with this mafia is almost unprecedented in French cinema, announcing a thriller very different from French production. The presence of the artist Rone on the soundtrack and the aesthetic obviously very inspired by the cinema of Nicolas Winding Refn, announce a unique French film noir. The work is already part of our great post-confinement expectations of the year !
